if i'm not mistaken fileserve is normally slow. however, with megaupload the transfer rate should be fine. try downloading around 11pm+ during that time the servers aren't that busy.

so you think slow download time has something to do with filehosting servers and not with my computer right?

yeah it's normal. i recommend internet download manager if you don't have it already. what's your isp anyway?

i agree with Mastahpiece about servers having high traffic volume (dont blame your comp) but I always get top 1.5MB/s on fileserve (premium)...
    i would also recommend jDownloader

You're on a cable connection which is shared with other subscribers to the isp in your area. Your connection speed will fluctuate depending on how many people are using their internet. This doesn't happen with DSL since each line is dedicated.

I don't and wont use any download manager software. If your internet is slow then its slow; if its fast, then its fast. If you're using windows xp then there are some registry tweaks you can do to better your connection/download speed. Other than that, that's it.
