Are you getting the speeds that your paying for? How is customer support when you have a problem that needs to be fixed?

You can use "Speedtest.net" to find out your download and upload speed.

If you guys can provide me with some results, I will gladly appreciate it as I need them for my Computer Science Project. So if you guys can answer those questions too, it would be helpful.

Here's my score as an example of what it should look like:

all i know is, in Canada, Rogers optimizes the connection based on what you're doing.

normally, when downloading you'll get a big surge in speed at the start, and this is how they use it to fool you into thinking you're getting your advertised speed. if you constantly test, one test after another, you'll realize that the speed will drop slowly. they do this because they realize that many people use sites like speedtest to test their connection speeds a lot.

Rogers also optimizes your connection when connecting to Youtube so when you're watching videos, it plays them seamlessly. (check where the site loads from if you don't believe me, usually in the bottom left/right)

In reality, you're not, there are so many factors affecting connection speed depending on how the network is setup.

well lets cut to the chase, here's my speeds:

according to the test, i'm getting over my advertised down speed of 12MBPS. (consider me lucky. :)) up speed is lacking, advertised is 512KB/S, still very close though.

gL getting Time Warner to even budge.

they won't do anything, they'll just blame it on network activity/distance from servers.

I have the wideband triple play, which is phone service, tv (one box) and internet for 165. Each additional box is $15 more. I'm using there free movie promotions for the next 3 months, so hopefully FiOs comes on my block by then!

But on a serious note my download and upload speeds fluctuate A LOT. They go up and down all the time.

    SEE EXAMPLE BELOW
[IMG] <-- just did this test.

I'm going to keep testing until I get my advertised speed!

Do u live on liberty ave? If so, then only timewarner is available there.
That's why when I called for Fios they didnt have the service there.
Like from lefferts going up (120,121,123) etc they don't have Fios.
Lefferts going down they do have Fios.
