I usually hit start up repair. I know fu-k all about computers but that option always fix's the problem and loads windows regularly upon next start-up. Get more advice though lol

if you cant type in the cmd prompt after startup repair, then restart the computer, while the computer is turning on, keep pressing f8 until you see a black screen with boot options, then you select "safe mode with command prompt" then when it boots up and you have the command prompt on screen, type "sfc /scannow" this is a system file scanner and should fix many issues.

It won't even boot to safe mode, after it says loading files, it goes straight back to the windows error recovery screen. I had done a diagnostic from the boot menu and it said "short dst failed." And i also did a hardrive test and that failed. I think my hdd crashed, what do you think?

If your hard drive has failed, then you should definitely buy a really good hard drive with lots of space. If you want your boot up time to be faster, try out a Solid State Drive. Do a clean install and update all of your drivers and everything will be good. All the best !
