Well recently, I noticed my disk space decreased. But this is weird. Because everyday I notice my disk space get's lower and lower. Last night it was 103 gb, and today it is 94.5 gb. Now there is something wrong. It could be a virus, but I'm not sure. I know that I keep most of my files (movies, music, games) in my external. Any help?

One thing that might help, is if you ever delete stuff and it's in your recycle bin, it still takes up some space. So empty your recycle bin. Or just use a virus scan if that doesnt work

I have a total of 250gb, and I keep track of the space I use. And I have no idea what you mean, lol. But Im sure it decreased in size/space.

dude its a virus. they have virus's that actually eat away your gb's. its not gonna stop. go get ESET NOD32 now cause its known to be one of the best scanners other than kaspersky. download the trial and use the following sites for the serials.
    nod321.com - NOD32 antivirus
    nod32sky.com - Nod32 Smart Security
simply copy and paste the usernames and passwords during installation.

my friend had a virus that literally ate his gbs until he had close to 9 left

Thanks for you help guys. I set a quota limit on my disk. So if anything trys to go beyond that limit, it will be denied. Hopefully this holds up. As of right now I'm looking for the place where most of the disk usage is going, and a solution =[

Yea it is a virus. I believe its a trojan which is the hardest virus to get out. people can make these viruses so it can delete your hard drive space little by little. best advice back everything up to your external and reboot. Easy lol

it could also be system restore creating a restore point every time you boot up.. try to disable or limit system restore space and see if it helps, best of luck.

I think I got this sucker. I'm not sure but this "SDPIOSYS.SYS" was the only Trojan/Backdoor I found in my Computer, after several scans. I killed the file and removed it from my start up.
