For The Past Week My Internet Connection Has Been Pretty Weak. I Have Verizon DSL. It Cuts On And Off Every 5 Minutes. I Have A Router, I Checked It Out, And It Seems Solid, No One Else Is Tapping Into My Connection. When I Try To Upload On Megaupload It Uploads Up To Around 20mb Then It Reverts To 3Mb Then Starts Uploading At 3kbs And Then It Counts Down. I Tried Other FileHosting Website, But They Just Cut Off... IDK, Any Help Will Be Appreciated...

No I Haven't, But Thats Something I Should Do. I Was Thinking That It Was Something With My Settings. If I Could Fix It Without Talking To Customer Rep Cause They Transfer Me To India And Those People Can't Even Pronounce My Name Right, And My Name Is A True Indians Name.

There's nothing wrong with your connection dream, This usually happens alot to people. Especially with Verizon, You should unplug everything first. Then wait for 15 minutes and plug everything back then. Then turn your modem back on and wait for 15 minutes. Then try to sign back on. If that doesn't work and it keeps on resetting every 5 minutes. Try to re-configure all the settings on your router. Open up your web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case... For Wireless Settings, do the following:

    Click on the Wireless tab

Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...

Then provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...

Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...

Then make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...

    For Wireless Security:

Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...

Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bits.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...Please make a note of WEP Key 1 as this is the Security Key for the Wireless Network...

That's about it. If this don't work then i suggest you try calling Verizon, Maybe they will send you a new modem. Or send someone over to fix it for you.

This happens to me a LOT! I have RR, and like when I'm on AIM; it will constantly restart on me and I will miss some IMs and I won't know anything about it.. I think i might need a new modem, because my upload speed is not as fast as it should be.

^^ thats the dumbest reply i ever read in my life

anyways.. if its raining the noise in the line would cause your connection to slow down and/or drop out alot. also remember to check your dsl filters, all your phone lines, your cables, and also tweak your internet settings accoring to your service speed and see from there.
