    Alright so heres the thing
i have avast pro 8 which i downloaded right here
thing is i have a killer spyware or malicious virus and
some trojans where they come from i have no
idea..Avast is picking them up and is asking me if i want
to delete/rename/quarentine the threats but i keep deleteing and every day Avast is showing me the same thing it keeps poping up
telling me that spyware/trojan/malicous found and i keep
deleting but nothing seems to actually remove the threat
i know its spyware because when im using my browser
when ever i click a link it redirects me always to some other
ad site so instead i gotta get the direct address and put it
in the URL bar instead of using google or any other search
engines because its redirecting me to ads site..
I Would really appreciate it if you guys can help me out
this thing is annoying slowed my pc and also turns it off
    at times.

Also im getting a annoying pop up saying
windows host process for windows has stopped working...wtf man

    YOUR BEST BET:

reinstall your OS using your restore disc.
get a good antivirus software and keep the definitions updated.

be careful of what websites you visit.
get something like spybot s&d or adaware and run it weekly.

don't use internet explorer. use firefox, opera, or safari.

im having the same problem with avast, nothing else
it keeps popping up saying i have some trojan when i click on an exe
it first started with tune-up utilities, then ares, then spybot, then ad aware...
but i did an online scan with trend housecall and it removed it
so far as im using my laptop everything seems to be back to normal
i already moved half my stuff to my external, so tonight im gonna move the rest and reformat to windows 7 from vista.

I would uninstall this and get Microsoft Security Essentials or Threatfire.

I bet malwarebytes anti-malware can clean your machine up. You should try it, its the best I have used so far.

you can do a couple of things here, scan out the trojans/virus manually if you know how to do it or pay someone to do it. also you can just frap your HD completley, take it out and get another pc and install it as a slave drive. then start up windows and go into my computer and right click on the drive and click format disk. if you dont want to do either then you can try this last step which may work aswell.

although i think your best bet is to just get it professionally removed....

you seem like the pop ups are causing you enough problems, avast is good, i have it myself, i would first install ad aware se like aj said and run it to clear up all the spyware you have, that should get rid of the pop-ups
the next step would be to get a stronger antivirus, avg is good, if you really wanna go hard and kill that virus i would go with kasperspy, run either or to a full scan, and it should get rid of the virus, firefox is the safest internet browser to use, other then that, just becareful of the sites you visit ;)

Update Avast and run a "Boot Time scan" . Afterwards, install Malware Byte. Reboot, and Hit F8, and then hit Safe Mode. Run a Malwarebytes scan in safemode.
You should be back in business.

Update: Didnt see the closed post.
