I have my laptop hooked up to a gemini cdm 3600 and i have the master output form the mixer str8 to the line in on my desktop computer. so i can record or dj on websites, etc. and im using vdj. the only problem is when i plug in the laptop to charge,i start hearing a whole ton of static, and the staic is all gone when i unplug the charger.

anyone know what can stop this problem?

unplug everything and try again, it could be the cables or 99.9% of the times the power cords.

I have the same problem.. Whats causing the problem is the ground on ur laptop charger... what u have to do is get a adaptor tht cancels the ground... exactly like this one but u dont have to have the excess wire hanging out there so what u do is u plug ur laptop charger in here and this adaptor into the wall [IMG]

    That works sometimes ^

what worked for me was my wires, i used some cheap shit lol but den and went and got belkin and other brand name wires with gold shielding and shit lol.
the static went away a lot, u can still hear it SLIGHTLY, like u gotta put ur ear to the speaker...

another thing i find is if i turn on my printer and plug it in, with my amp plugged into my laptop, it creates some weird ass sound
havent found a fix for that, but then again its not even that much of an issue.

what your probaly hearing is ground loop hum. If you unplug your laptop power cable from the laptop and the noise goes away then thats what it is (same for your printer) or w.e else causes it). Go to radio shack and ask them for a ground loop isolator. It connects to your signal cables. It costs 15 dollars.
