I would like to know if anybody on mastahpiece has any musical background knowledge on any West Indian
instrument. If anyone knows how to play Dholak, Dhantal, Harmunium, Tabla, Tassa, Steel Pan, and many more, post if u know how. Or maybe if anybody is willing to learn.

I play Harmonium, Dholak, and Dhantal, I hope to learn Tassa in the future but got no time at all. I would like to know what u play or want to play, or your favourite instrument.

If "Knack table" counts then yes lol. I used to play tabla for like 2 weeks until i gave up because the words for the notes were funny for me and i couldnt stop laughing . so i just knocked the kitchen table for a few years and now i can play some serious tassa beats and tabla beats tho.

Theres the book with notes and stuff and it says all those words. And when you start playing you have to know all the notes, words and you have to say them. idk what kinda tabla that is tho cuz you have to put baby powder every 2 seconds lol

lol da book is complicated, who got the time fuh learn all dah taals, i just know da basic taals that you can play for chutney and stuff, lol i dont know wah de powder for, i think when u playing tabla, ur hand gets sweaty and causes resistance when u playing, so the powder is probably there to make it smooth.

I play the fool... does that count?

Seriously, I have a Harmonium and a Tabla at home. I should seriously re-learn them.
