    well first make sure your using Blackberry Messenger 5.0 (it has display pics etc) if you dont have it then blackberry.com/messenger then you open the app, create a name (if its your first time) then when you see your contact list, click YOUR name at the top and it'll let you change your display name etc, scroll down and you'll see your pin/barcode

    edit: it uses data. so its the same as AIM or MSN in terms of data usage

    for some reason it wont add i think you copied your pin wrong trig

    you go to invite contact, scan barcode, and u can scan anything, even my avatar

    your question is very stupid no offense. its a brand of phone obviously there's going to be people using them. people still use nokias? motorolas? etc? ; and recently blackberries have gotten cheaper to where everyone can afford one. so yes people still use blackberries.
