Who Will Be 2011 Chutney Soca Monarch King?

I agree with nasty, we actually had some good chunes last year, that we still indeed listen to this year aswell. Ah Drinka, Catch Meh Lovah, Barman, Indrani,Puncheon, Spanna & Rum Doh Bodda Me.

Nothing really stood out to me this year, yeah we had "Player" and "Sumatie Daughter" but their still nothing compared to what we had last year. JMC triveni also lost some steam, after Sunita, they just fizzled down for me. Doh Leave Me, ehh still can't compare to Sunita.

Soca Elvis didnt release anything impressive or Rikki Jai.
I truly believe Rajin Dhanaj & "OId Fire Wood" was superb, and also "Ah Shoulda Never".

Definitely ravi b for playa and ah drinka.. Those songs took over the club scene for a while

 

Hunter's time? Ehh, well you have "Tanty Man" "Feeling Rude" Sumatie Daughter" but I doubt he'd even take the crown this year. Their still not BIG hits to actually win.

I doubt Hitman aswell, Jannu (Gyal Leave That Man) or Rum Is Not Meh Lovah.
None of the chutney this year, was considered BIG HITS.

My favorite has to be Old Fire Wood & Ah Shoulda Never. We'll have to see.

I truly believe that "Old Fire Wood" By Rajin Dhanraj is gonna win this year. Big Rich recently released a second version to that song titled "Old Fire Wood Traditional Chutney" The song was recreated with lots of dhantal & dholak, even a harmoniuml. This indicates that they really have high hopes for this song to make a second traditional version to it.

Ravi B won last year, i don't think he should win again. BUT, he actually made the most chutney songs this year, and each can be considered a hit.
