Who Will Be 2011 Chutney Soca Monarch King?

This monarch was just ridiculous! Rikki Jai? Come on seriously? I can't believe he got 18,000 votes!

White Oak and Water was a horrible song. It isn't on any CD's. I don't even like the song, i downlloaded it once & never listened to it again. What a garbage song, Rikki Jai out of everyone. This old 40 something year man, who has been a singer since 1988 wins the monarch in 2011? Really come on, let the young guys shine. People like Ki Persad, Rick Ramataur, and even Ravi B all the young chutney singers, should've been one of the winners. I can't Rick Ramataur didn't make it into the top three, i agree with Ravi B and Ki Persad but not RIKKI JAI! I was so happy to see Adesh Samaroo performing, Soca Elvis's perfomance was nice & i enjoyed the woman singing Janay Chalay. I enjoyed Terry Gajraj, hje represented for GUYANA real nice. But RIkki Jai DID not deserve to win, and I only think he won becausee he's close with Kamela.

I didn't know that, I guess that prove even how shitty the song was i didn't even bother to check and see who it was produced by,,,,, hell i like the bhanga song he did better than WO nW.. Something is wrong here definately, and not that it made a difference but I read somewhere online , where Guyana was blocked out from voting?? don't know how true that is but if it is then that pretty messt up.. especially for terryg case..

 

That was so messed up. There was so much chaos concerning Guyana lastnight. It would've been such a disgrace is a GUYANESE came into trinidad and took the crown away! Those idiot blocked voting for guyana, and there was a big conflict concerning a man who had his guyana flag & a bunch of trinidadians came up to him and exchanged words... ignorant people i tell you!

3.00am, early this morning at the Skinner Park San Fernando Ground the Chutney Soca Monarch Winner 2011 was announced, and it was none other than Chutney Soca veteran Rikki Jai, taking the title (and the 2 Million $$ of course..lol| ) making it his 6th win of the competition. "The Jai Master" (as some is reffering to him now) dethroned reigning champ Ravi B with Jai's tune of "White Oak & Water".


However, the competition was not sweet for all, as it is alleged that former champ Ravi B could'nt come to terms of his loss, and hurled obscene remarks to the crowd insinuating them to "pelt down the stage", he also further bluntly stated that he was cheated in the competion.


Ravi B however stands not alone, as other artists such as K.I & Hitman were also alleged to be cheated, as this was view of fans across T&T, via various Social Networks.


"Rum Till I Die" artist Adesh Samaroo, went as far as stating publicly on his Facebook profile "I thank you Southex for bringing indians to a lower level AGAIN, Thanks".


Anil Bheem, also a CSM finalist stated "I don't agree with the results either ..but it is, what it is..and we are all powerful in our own right."


Lead singer for the crossover band Dil E Nadan, Raymond Ramnarine stated "wats dis about certain artistes tellin their suporters to pelt down d csm stage ? wow, welcome to WWE ! anyways congratulations to rikki jai and k.i. hunter and d rest. told you to stop d hating and start lovin"

My personal opinion, I would've been so much happier if Ki Persad or Rick Ramataur one.

Its ridiculous! 2 million dollars should go to someone who well deserves it. In my eyes I felt that Ki Persad & Rick Ramoutar well deserved the crown. I would've also been happy if Terry Gajraj or The Hitman won it. But Rikki Jai? What has he done significant this year?
I wouldn't of been please if Ravi B won because he won it last year & he doesn'tt need the 2 million.

Ravi B needs to grow up & accept his loses. Don't request he fans to pelt the stage. Hitman & Adesh Samaroo were upset, but they didnt act in the way Ravi B. Of course there is gunna be alot of people upset, because I don't see no way how Rikki Jai received 18,000 votes. If people reallly did vote for him there wouldn't be much chaos right now. This was fluke win to me.

RIkki Jai was far below on everyones predictions. I don't see how he could've won.

Even Terry Gajraj's Sumatee was way better than any Text Yuh or White Oak and Water
Rick Ramoutar's Ah Should ah never was a top notch along with Ravi B's Wey Yuh Deh and Cya Cum although Cya Cum was a little less superior
But come on White Oak and water was crap, no vocals, no good lyrics, nothing

Ah Shoulda Never was one of my favorite songs of 2011, Rick Ramoutar from a family of great chutney singers, he's well deserved to won the 2 million. Good song by Rick!
Ravi B, face it if you hate him or love him, he's a great singer & awesome performer. I don't know who else made like 5 songs this year, Cya Cum, Player, Wey Yuh Dey, Tek it and alot of cameos in Sumatee, By D Bar, Vanni, Tu Jaan Se Pyara and Caura River. Ravi B is on fire.
Also, JMC Triveni, wonderful work by these guys, K.I. Persad's No More Rum Again!
I personally would've been happier if K.I. Persad or Rick Ramoutar won the 2 million.
White Oak & Water was just a stupid song, I downloaded it once exclusively on MASTAHPIECE.COM .. and never listened to it again. Come on Rikki Jai had to use the "Hold Yuh" melody to make this song. Just a useless & garbage song. Rikki is like in his 40's. The man has been singing since 1988 and won monarchs before. His time is DONE. its time for the new comers in chutney, K.I. Persad, Rick Ramoutar, Rajin Dhanraj & Ravi B.
Rikki Jai wasn't even on my TOP 10 list of predictions, he should give up his crown and reward it to someone more deserving.

The truth was going to come out at some point of how Rikki Jai
pulled this off, but Im disappointed he did this. Chutney music is a celebration

lol Mor Tor was the chune! But it really is ashame. I guess maybe the whole chutney soca monarch is what has caused chutney music to change. As you said chutney music was liming music and to get on bad. And now you see shameful things like this happening which you would expect over here and not in the culture of Guyana and Trinidad.
I've never been Terry Gajraj's biggest fan, but c'mon Sumatee is way better than White and Water and Text Yuh. I'm not saying that he should have won, but even this song could have beaten Rikki Jai.
I won't be surprised if Ravi B and KI don't even end up participating in next year's Chutney Soca Monarch. Yes it 2 million dollars, but is it worth participating in something with such a cheated system morally?

 

I read that whole article and it surprised me. Rikki Jai gave people cell phones just to text his name so he came win. Those people we're texting for straight 48 hours. WOW and then gave them other sim cards, this guy is a SKAMP MAN! I never expeced this from a guy who I respected and is a chutney veteran. He CHEATED and SCAMMED his win. He doesn't deserve this at all, what a same.

Rikki Jai claimed he had "18,000" votes and Ravi B only had "11,000" Thats such a lie because Ravi B's fan book page has 30,000+ fans while Rikki Jai has 3000 fans.
