Dj Ganja - i heard way better from you.....but it was okay 4.5/10 Dj Supakid - you mix was good but i felt like all your stuttering distorted the songs....i couldn't even tell in some parts which song was playing with the beat also in some parts i didnt feel the beat on the songs. overall 6/10 Freestyle - good mix i really enjoyed it 7/10
GANJA- Great transitions bro, good beat, heard lots of clipping in the songs, the only transitions i didnt like was the required songs were not transferred properly. 6.28/10 lol Good job. SHOTTY- Great selection of songs, However lost my interest at .45. Required songs were threw in there perfectly. 6.8/10 Good job tho. SupaKid- Got My interest as soon as the beat dropped. RANG BARSE anyways Great transitions everything to me flowed properly. the Duniya Jamela Transition could have been better lol. Loved the Aanse se Uske Mixup, It finally came to an end, but enjoyed all 4 min and 13 secs of it. 8/10 and ps. I taught Supakids' mix wasn't distorted, I heard what he was going for and all songs playing. Maybe I need new speakers. ? lol Im Glad to see everyone is playing with their words, makes it more a challenge. Good job to everyone. Keep it up. Judges Why not put it on the Homepage to get more views and spice up the competition?
DJ Ganja - Vocals coulda used a bit more work on the eq'ing, the mix overall had some sort of confusion about it for me. I dont like how it seemed like you just threw in dono kisi ko in there, just to be in there lol. Flow was something that coulda used a bit more work. watch the levels of the stutters at 51 secs. That beat that you put on Duniya Jamela though, i was actually kinda feeling that, but like I said, it got ruined by just throwing dono kisi ko in there. - 4/10 DJ Supakid - Transitions coulda been a cleaner in some parts. the transition to dono kisi ko kinda interrupted the flow, but nice remix for that. I think your stuttering got a bit too repetitive. It was like the same style throughout the entire mix lol, but overall this mix was decent. had its good parts, and not so good - 5/10 DJ FreeStyle - First off, that thodo resham remix was nice. I liked it. one problem i have with this mix is the leveling and the amount of stuff going on at one time. Like one piece has a lot going on, and then theres a brake, and shit sounds simple, and then it goes back to a lot of stuff going on at once. I had to go back to your stuttering and stuff in the beginning, I did not like it lol. It changed up a lot in such a short amount of time. Flow, again, is another thing that needed work. I think this mix had a lot of potential to be sick, but the lack of flow is really what messed it up for me. - 5.5/10 DJ Shotty - Better stuttering, flowed well. The superman piece was kinda chill, possibly a bit too chill? but overall good mix. Have to say this was the best mix for this round. Good work. A few songs were louder, some were slightly lower, but it wasn't very noticeable. This also needs more variety of beats - 7/10
Time for my professional input. I will treat you all as professionals and I won't hold back because, you guys should want to improve. DJ Ganja - Your beats suck, actually no they dont, you dont know how to use them. Cool sfx though. Work on your quality. 4/10 Dj Supakid - Your beats suck too. You can studder good enough and pull off some shit but this mix is WEAK. The beat is so light. Work on your quality. 3.5/10 Freestyle - Wtf @ camelspace outta nowhere. Your studders are all out of nowhere too. You really threw me off that shit in the beginning. Eh.. this mix has no direction... no one's did. Work on your quality. 4/10 Shotty - Work on your quality. Very dull mix. A little more put together than the rest but still, not enough. 4/10 Bottom line, learn about SONG STRUCTURE. These are some pointless ass mixes. No direction at all. No DYNAMICS. Everything is flat, theres no high points or low points, its all one same shit. Like boring sex. Ittl get you by but at the end, you aint enjoy it one bit. In basic terms, YOU NIGGAS GOT NO SWAG. Do better in the next round.
Agreed^ Thats what I meant about the flow, things were coming in out of nowhere in these mixes. Shotty had more flow than the others though.
okay, well with basically all four of these remixers, i can tell that they won't want corrections. they will think that they're already good remixer. i can hear how a remixer is just by listenin to a remix. what these remixers need to realize is that they can improve. they have decent concepts and ideas, but to make a truly good mix, they need to realize that they can always do better and they need to take constructive criticism. there are ways to hype up these mixes. but fo real, they sound plain and boring. anyone can studder and make a beat and put it on a track. it's beyond that. i agree basically with what trigga said. listen to when the remixes from summer anthems come out and then listen to how those remixers make their remixes. i actually enjoy listenin to those remixes. bottom line is, these remixers need to know that there is always room for improvement and that they should consider the corrections fellow remixers tell em
Yaay, all four contestants qualified for round 2 by default! Let's not let this happen again. DJ Ganja's Mix (4/10): Very decent intro. I was feeling the house synths until the crappy Soca beat overlapped it. At least you managed to switch up the music selection along with the beats. Maybe you're not capable yet, but when you are, try to make use of tricks, filters and effects to make your mixes a lot more challenging. Young Mix Mastah use to mix the most boring songs with sometimes the most boring beats but always caught the listeners attention with his tricks and effects. Also, listen for your volumes. Some parts of this mix are distorted and none of the volumes were even throughout the mix. Are you using headphones? P.S., I'm feeling that Chak Doom Doom mix, if only the mix wasn't distorted. DJ Supakids Mix (6.8/10): You put a lot of effort in this mix I can tell, but your beats are way too flat. Your timing was great and these remixes were decent clean. Some of the concepts in this mix made sense and I enjoyed most of the word play. Like I mentioned to DJ Ganja, you need to watch out for the volumes, distortion is a pet peeve for me. I will give you additional credit for handing in a mix that's 4min long. DJ Freestyles Mix (5.7/10): This mix was fun. I was getting bored of the single kick throughout the first 25sec., but I'm glad you brought in the snare on Thoda Reshma Lagta Hai, I would have done the same and not to mention, it sounded hype. The Gata Rahe concept was ok, it could have been done cleaner and smoother. Nice try with the filter, too bad it's way too played out now. DJ Shotty's Mix (5.7/10): Your stuttering are all over the place. You got to watch your timing. The best part of this mix was the Mere Gaon Ke wordplay. You brought it in very slick and used nearly the perfect beat for that concept to go with the rest of this mix. I don't know what was the point of some of these beats but they didn't help hiding your drifts! Stop being lazy and chop up your music and keep it clean. Drifts are another pet peeve of mine.
I agree with all the above ratings, esp Torunto's, I couldn't agree with you more. Great criticism and will definitely hit rd 2 harder.
DJ Freestyle - Useless stutters in the beginning. It didnt make your mix any better but rather made me realize that you got carried away with it. The mix has potential if you learn to transition properly and stop with the random beats. The mix at the ending with "Gata Rahe" could have been done better and that style of mixing is getting played out. (4.5/10) DJ Ganja - Im gonna be straight up and say its the mix that i enjoyed the LEAST, but i must agree with Blaudcee because that "Chak Doom Doom" mix was pretty interesting, and as for the closing to the mix...you ended very weak. (3.5/10) DJ Shotty - Another mix that has potential but just as Trigga said, learn about your "Song Structure." (4/10) DJ Supakid - My fave mix out of the four, but that doesnt mean its "amazing." I just see the effort and time you put into it. That beat you put into the mix at 2:26 is what you costed yourself a higher grade. The beat got annoying, especially that break. (6/10)
like forreal niggas.. u dont even hear ME studder like that anymore u gonna go do it 4 years after it was hot??? come with something new. these days is more about melody and flow not skills
u have a really good point here.....i will definitely use that in rd 2.....in real words i rushed this mix i wasn't trying to come off too hard as u can see the slower part to the mix i got really sloppy.......as for rd 2 looking forward to something big also salim thanks for your comment trev you too killa kev look for rd 2 mix gonna be hotter
I don't have a professional criticism like Trigga & Blaudcee, but I'm inna coolie woman ***** mode after lissening to some of these mixes DJ Supakid - Ewwwwwww! Yucky! Lmao the song selection... too common? The song used the least thruout the west indian remix lifespan was duniya jamela & that beat u used gets just annoying & tiring afta a while DJ Ganja - U had nice song selections but the beginning was irritating wid yur whole techno beat experiment DJ FreeStyle & DJ Shotty, my faves, not the best mixes inda world but whenever there's a mixing contest on MP everybody wants to enter & we who gotta hear it just gotta learn to deal wid it. Good luck inda future to all of u & word of advice, idk anything bout mixing, I do couple blends but just surprise the **** outta all of us. More then half the people on this site don't have a life & just download waeva they see, your shit is gonna eventually be downloaded, make yur mix wanna stay inda comp & not go inda recycle bin. Keep in mind u gotta tough crowd to please, try mixing Priya Rai moans wid Aaja Nachle or some shit, JUST SURPRISE US!
freestyle - i could tell you put all you effort into this mix, wasn't enough though. it would've been so much better if your beat was better but too bad it wasn't, mix was pretty okay. (5/10) ganja - should've kept up the techno flow, would've sounded so much better then that wack ass soca beat & watch your volumes. come harder. (4/10) shotty - it was pretty sloppy, watch your stutters. next time, take your time. (4/10) supakid - i don't know what you we're trying to do .. sounds like you just did the mix to DO IT. sounds like duniya kamela was off. beats we're blah. (3/10) lets see how much people turn in a mix round 2. maybe 1 out of the 4. anyways, i just got in. time fer bed. later.
