Ive been talking to some of the other artists and the fans have been liking songs... but not really the deejays. Deejays have an extensive library of songs they've always wanted to hear redone or covered with a mixed song. So im putting your input to the Chutney Soca artists. Give me a list or a link of what you want to hear sung and other artists and i will try to deliver. Chutney Soca and Hindi Soca Cover should be the peoples sound and we really want your opinion. Even topics will help us also.

Something that's not degrading. 200 songs about alcohol and people cheating on each other isnt cool.

I would love to hear more Surinamese genre, and can't forget the raw Trini chutney for ex; Chutney Posse, Doh Hold Meh Back, Lotala and Leggo Me Na Raja! I hated chutney since Chutney Rum Shop started.

I couldnt agree with this more. This new "chutney" isnt even chutney anymore.

As for the OP - just out of interest, why are you looking to resing, and essentially do exactly whats being done (and overdone, dare I say) already?

I talked to one deejay already and he said real chutney music was dead... not like ah drinka and catch meh lovah, those are bollywood-chutney songs. He was talking about chutney such as mousie. He asked me if anyone knew what Rakesh was singing about and said that Rakesh could be singing about your mom and your sister and nobody understands what he says. Then again most guyanese and trini in toronto are ashamed of chutney music...

Would it be english chutney or bhojpuri chutney that you guys want then ?

@Soca: You are totally right, but people have run out of ideas , gotten lazy and have started stealing melodies for the past 6 years. Big Rich started the whole trend and messed up chutney really badly. Artists are just with him because he can guarantee theyre song will be a hit but he gets a percentage out of that.

Not for all of us. I sing because i like music and i want to put out my flavor of chutney-soca out there. A little pocket change would be nice too but that would raise the want for more money then I would come out with shitty songs.

Look at Ravi B for example. His name speaks for himself =/ Compare his older songs like Gul Gul to a new one like Ah Rose.

When A New Song Comes Out It Should Be Unique & Not A Remake From Some Other Song.

Theres no such style as "bollney". These artists are taking older indian songs, and even new ones as well, and rewriting words to them. These words mostly are about alcohol, relationship problems and SEX. "Cockset Stand"? Yeah that song has totally a different meaning to it lol. Aswell as "Spanner" and "De Hammer".

Some of these new songs I can listen to, but some of them are just horrible.
From 1993 to say 2002 chutney music was actual CHUTNEY music, no hindi singovers.
Songs like "Doh Hold Me Back", "Chutney Bacchanal", "Mousie", "Young Bakabana", "Duniya Jamela", "Thar Gori Jamuna", "Dheere Dheere" and others. Sure you had your chutney song with english words like, "Shake It Baby", "Rum Till I Die", "Ring Bang Ring Bang", "Run For Meh Life".

2002 was the unofficial DEATH of traditional chutney music.

Look at this CD Chutney Remix Method 2.

    1. Ah Shoulda Never - Oh Phirkiwale
    2. By Di Bar - Jiska Mujhe Hai Intezar
    3. We Drinkin - Rum & Redbull, and Thaare Vaaste
    6. Ah Rose - Ek Roz Mein Tadapkar
    07. Barman - Dil Mera Ek Paas
    09. Cya Com - Dekho Main Nahi Mere Ek Sapna
    13. Wey Yuh Dey - Chalte Chalte
    14. Feelin Rude - Rishte Naate
    15. Why Yuh Leave Meh - Janay Chalay Jaate Hai
    16. Go Yuh Way - Aadmi Mustafir Hai
    17. Ajani Dhalin - Yeh To Kahan
    18. Suhani Gyal - Suhani Raat Dhal Ke Chuki
    19. Never Like She - Chalne Lage Hawain
    20. Jamie - Pehli Nazar Mein
    21. Drunk & Fallin Down - Saanwali Salooney
    22. Judy - Bhool Gaya Sab Kuch
    23. Sumatee - Apne Pyar Ke
    24. Look How She Leave - From Sundar Popo Song
    25. Cya Go No Wey - Gaata Rahe Mera Dil
    26. Rum Not My Lova - Aanay Se Uske
    27. No More Rum Again - Mere Naam Hai Chameli
    28. Limer - Suno Na Suno Na
    29. Carissa - Dil Mein Chupa Ke
    30. Meh Neyba - Dil Aisa Kissi Mere Toda
    31. Kavita
    32. Sharon
    33. Ill Be The One - Mere Patle Kamar
    34. Gyal Leave Dat Man - Jaanu Meri Jaan
    35. Look It Dey - Nanda Ji Ko Chaila
    36. Horn But Cya Take - Aab Ki Baras
    37. River Of Caura - River Of Babylon (River Of Babylon Reggae Song)
    38. I Doh Believe Dat - Akele Hai Akele
    39. Chaadar Beechow
    40. Ke Ghungroo
    41. Dem Ah Watch Meh
    42. Go So Nah - Pehli Din Jo Tumse Aaye
    43. When Last - Payal Ke Jhankar
    44. Womanizer - Gudiya Jaise Behna Hai
    45. Why Yuh Leave - Mere Khwabon
    47. Moving On - Mustafir Ho Yaaron

^Thats really pathetic, that most of the songs on this 2011 CHUTNEY REMIX CD have indian melodies. Goddam compared to a chutney cd back in the day.

    "Chutney Zone"

    1. DCZ Mega Mix Intro
    2. Mor Tor
    3. Buutu Kela
    4. Dhaiya Pee Gai
    5. Find A Good Man
    6. What I Go Do
    7.D.I.S.C Mega Mix
    8. Caroni Close Down
    9. Pitbull
    10. Cool Yourself
    11. More Rum For Me (Mr. Shankar) - Jai Jai Shiva Shankar
    12. Balma Wah
    13. Julanah Julawah
    14. Roiyee Roiyee
    15. Tulaah Kabul
    16. Janet
    17. Manicou
    18. Square Key
    19. Meena
    20. Playing With My Heart
    21. Chutney Injection
    22. Run For Meh Life
    23. Baka Bana
    24. Daredi O Na Jani
    25. Shaadi Kare
    26. Doo Doo Darling Marajin
    27. D.I.S.C Shoutouts
    28. Rozeena
    29. Basanti
    30. Married Once
    31. I Ain’t Ride No Bicycle
    32. Ring Bang Ring Bang
    33. Lollipop

Chutney music has evoled into something so different, but I commend the people that try to stick to the tradionational style. Rakesh Yankaran, Latchman Dinial, Adesh Samaroo, Aaron Jeewan Singh, Hema Dinial, Ambi Yankaran.
"Chutney Recipe" great CD jam packed with hardcore CHUTNEY!

Don't even get me started with singing over Indian songs.
Prem Kahani was fine with me, that song became a hit by Indar Kanhai, but then they just went ape shit with singovers.
Paather Ke Sanam, Geet Ghatta Chal, Tere Jaise Yaar, Jaane Chale, Teri Ore, Jabse Teri Naina, Pehli Nazar Mein, Sanwali Saloney, Apne Pyar Ke, Jiske Mujhe, Tere Naina, Jiska Mujhe, Rona Kabhi Nahi, Mustafir Ho Yaaron, Janam Janam Ka Saath Hai.

^ Artists like Anil Bheem, Andy Singh, Raymond Ramnariane, all they know how to do is sing over a old indian song, with some crappy Pungalunks beat.

It was ok when Kanchan sang back Hindi songs because she kept it HINDI. She didn't go all out on the patois and through in the rum and drunkard lyrics.

@ Nightwing.. just do music that people can dance to and get down man. Coz no mattter what u do ,, u not going make everyone happy. People might hate to hear this but chutney music was dead b4 Big Rich came and revolutionalized it again. I know the purest chutney fans might not want to hear that but facts are facts. Make you music and work hard to make it perfect as could be and maybe u come up with a hit songs that will put u on the map. e.g dolly boy limer. And don't bother with all that baitak fartak crap thats a dead end business, even in Holland and Suriname, Big Rich music taking over . So Nightwing make u songs put you all into it and maybe one day your music can be played international like some big artist on this site lol.

Chutney wasn't dead before Big Rich came, because people were blazing chunes in 2005 like Mor Tor, 2006 Maticoor Night, in 2007 yu still had some tough ones on the airwaves like Sahsou by Hemlatha Dindial. Big Rich did that song Bring It by Hunter in 2007, but that song, right after its release, didn't get any airplay at all!! That song didn't became a hit till 2008.

Don't think he did that, he destroyed it! Chutney isn't chutney anymore. Why you think the biggest chutney producers like FM don't even stick out their hands anymore because of Big Shit

Look, back in the days Sundar Popo was already singing about sexual things. Nana & Nani and not to mention Ramdew Chaitoe with his Rodj Dekhila. Even alcohol problems were good reasons to make succesful chunes>> Yusuff Khan with his Bigret Desa Toenhar for many known as Darwa Na Peeya resung by Molly Ramcharan. So that's nothing new.

Did you smoked some weed when you typed this? Duniya Jamela was way before 1993 and was released on vinyl. Tar Gori Jamuna was done in 2005 and Dheere Dheere (if you mean the one by Rakesh) was done in 2006 if im not mistaken.

    So this line
is not true at all LOL

Latchman Dindial & Ambi Yankarran<< Are you ****ing serious? hahahahah

Another Are you ****ing serious? hahahahah

gosh bai u for one i taught would understand what I am saying,,, yeh there were one or two big songs here and there u always will get that but overall the chutney market was dieing, fm don't do music no more because no one will buy the rights from them ,,, mohabir i guess got tired of loosing money , behind them cds. Of course Rich did a few songs b4 bring it , he did stuff for indar khani, hitman and so on but it took a lil time to catch on and once it did.. boom

hell even on this site there were folks who bash the new chutney style when it first came out but look at them now,, djs doing a lot of chutney cds ,, them overdose title seems to be popular , i bet some people out there can't wait for part 5.
Accept it Nasty traditional chutney is over, so pass me glass pass meh run I drinking tonite I don't care wha meh wife say I love meh black and white

Do you even know how Big Rich songs became a hit? He was giving his own produced songs airplay, and the other songs by other producers weren't
