did you check the dell website for the drivers? also make sure you're getting the right drivers for the system type: 32/64 bit.

If you check on www.dell dot com. You'll Find Your Drivers For Your System. Every Download is sorted by system or tag. So You Should Find The Specific drivers For Your System.

The System Might Not Be Compatible With Windows Xp, Check Dell Website For Available Drivers... C If Windows Xp Drivers Are Available... If Not Reload The OS Back To Windows 7.

When you go on dell site go to support. Enter the express tag located on your laptop and it will show you the right drive
