Well one things for sure that iknow is that I'm 1 out of the 5 who voted for you because your mixx was intriguing for your info.
Hurricane Swizz 7/10 Decent mix. Great intro towards the mix but I wasn't feeling the sudden Hindi at :37sec. I was expecting some raw dancehall acapellas thrown on that same beat. This whole mix could have been arranged better, the sudden transitions to a complete different genre were a little off. You should have saved the Hindi for the end. The Smash Riddim session was dope. I'm also hearing new and different instrumentals being used from the other mixes, good job. The Mr. Vegas echo-out was getting annoying after the 8th beat. The chutney loop on Party Rock had my head bopping a little bit, nice work. DJ Darkside 5.5/10 You did not just mix my all time favorite Michael Jackson song with Gyptian. Since you used this particular song, I'm not feeling this remix but I'll respect you for your song choice. This whole mix was very random. I got lost and forgot what genre I was listening to. I hear Soca, Reggae, Hindi, Spanish all in 20 seconds. You used a few of my favorite hits such as All Around The World by ATC, Ek Chanchol Soh and No Te Veo by Casa De Leones but didn't give me the remix I was looking for of them. I know you tried here but keep practicing. Interpret your all time favorite remixes by whoever it is that mixed them and use them for guidance the next time you start a project. Don't dub their styles though lol. Dozenshots 8.5/10 You nailed it. I've heard hardcore delivery in this mix. There wasn't one concept in this mix that I didn't like. Old School, New School and I've even heard some Nas, Timbaland, Supercat, John Wayne, Pan Head and Capleton in there! this shi-t was gun shot! The entire Electro with Dancehall session was wild. The transitions were slick as my hair gel, we'll just call this one Dipitty Do! I really enjoyed that Mad Lion tease at 3:15 by the way. If you thrown in other genre's other than House, Dancehall and Hip Hop, you would have earned some more points. The mastering could have been better also. The clarity of some of these acapellas weren't with the beats mixed with them so work on that for your next project. Great work on this mix Dozen, you fu-king nailed it!
This was close...Im gonna keep this short and sweet, Darkside impressed me the most simply in terms of growth, talk about steppin it up. Swizz, sick mix as usual, i enjoyed it . Dshots same goes for you, but you already knew that. Since there can be only one, Swizz takes it for having the best mix. Dshots-8/10 Darkside-8/10 Swizz-8.5/10
Good stuff dozenshots. Although I didn't like how u stopped the house session. I would've expected you to bring some more crazy shit with those beats instead of a whole other slow session or something. Overall I say you win tho
ight so: swizz; on point shit was hot, nice n smooth darkside;very creative i like that macarena shit lol my vote goes to you dozenshots; shit was hot the old school reggae part had me vybin and in the mix but you couldve done better
Oh yea so based on votes, Swizz took the summer anthem of 2011. Congrats! Also, congrats to Dozenshots and Darkside, you guys still made it to the final round regardless, which shows you two have a lot of potential, everyone knows dozenshots is sick, and darkside showed good improvement.
