Sounds like a hard drive failure.

Try reformatting, if its still ****ing up, its gone. You can also try putting the external into an enclosure and trying it out via USB

second hard drive failure this week, makes me want to do a backup. [IMG]

what you should do, find all the original documents and anything pertaining to the laptop/laptop warranty. (hope you kept your bill, etc.)

it will usually tell you what type of problems are covered, but I would think that hard drive failure should be covered, since it won't be that much money for a company to send you a new hard drive. but, you never know..

I'm pretty sure its covered under warranty. Its not accidental damage so it should be good to go.

Also, replacing your hard drive yourself DOES NOT void your warranty.

if it's dead, you'd probably have to change the platter inside to get it to work again.

honestly, there's way too much work to justify fixing it when you can buy another one for cheap.

thanks everyone i read all your comments & added rep to all of you

i called today & they said there going to send a box for me to ship it to them... they said its some sort of "common problem" but i still think its beyond stupid because i paid over 1000 for this piece of shit laptop they should of atleast did a little more tests to avoid this problem -_____-

I also gave them a little cuss up so there sending me a free laptop case LOL

& yea i kept the bill everything that they gave me even got the box still

then again thank you everyone! saved me some trouble from my parents because they thought i broke it lol!
