i have never bought a tower pc, all of mine were built from scratch.

laptops on the other hand... I've never thought twice about the brand.

I just make sure I'm getting a good price for the money, that the core is good, ram is up to par, and a good GFX card to boot.

We are considering buying a new laptop soon, so I might just base my opinion off this review. http://www.laptopmag.com/mobile-life/best-brands-2011.aspx

wrd yo. Im in Florida so idk if you know bout hhgreg. We bought a ASUS X53E
for 400$. So far its a really good computer. Its cool even when going for long times. i5 core, 2.4ghz clocks w/ software at 3.0. Even has a USB 3.0 port. I think its a good buy from ASUS, but from what I hear this year wasnt their best. If your buying a computer down here, be prepared to bargain.

Well, HP has always been good to me. I've never had any problems with it because I've had 2 of them growing up. I had a Sony Vaio laptop, and that itself was a mistake.

Alienware is bullshit if you ask me. Build your own PC if you can, it's cheaper and you get exactly what you want, and not what you settled for. I built mine from scratch, and I priced my same build out on the Alienware site and it was 6 grand. I don't know about other people, but that's not affordable for me to spend on a computer. With Alienware, you're just paying for name.. least that's what I believe.

Apple makes great products, but they are very pricy. You truly do get what you pay for.

Asus is good also, I do have a monitor from them and I have no problems as of yet.

Just earlier this year I got a Toshiba i5 laptop and it's been great for me. I have no complaints about this brand either.

I guess in the end, all brands will have good and bad products. We tend to base our opinions of products by the reviews of others.. That's probably why many brands have such terrible reputations.

Anyways, if you all have a Gateway computer and you think it's better than Apple.. then rep what you like. I don't judge lol.
