If anyone can help me out it will be greatly appreciated.
I'm having a problem with my Sony Vaio Laptop. It has a bunch viruses that cannot be removed without having to restore factory settings. The problem is I don't have the recovery disc.Another thing I was thinking to do is to do the upgrade to Windows 7 and do a clean install, but I don't know if there's a disc for Windows 7 for Sony Vaio.If anyone can help me with this problem it would be very appreciated.
    Thanks

if doesn't have to the same recovery disc from sony, you can use any windows 7 installation disc.

Yeh Mastah got it right, That would be ur best bet. Unless you can scan out the viruses; Take off your internet, and get a program that does that virus burn thing, Where it can literally destroy any unwanted program designated by the user. Or you can also find out the processes the program is running and deactivate in registry.
Mastah correct me if im wrong, arent majority of viruses usually a program written than literally acts through a base script maybe through a remotely hijacked computer ?

My sony vaio harddrive recently failed, funny thing is it had a trojan virus a few weeks before, but I was able to remove it in safe mode with 3 programs. Good luck and I dont know why sony doesn't supply us with recovery cd's they want us to go out and purchase it. Im going to need a windows 7 cd as soon as I purchase a new HD.

correct, it's like a world of zombies online using hijacked computers/servers connected to the internet.
once a machine is infected by a trojan it can be remote access. those machines are mainly use to spam (usually to make money), crack accounts, phishing etc...

some company include a built in partition for windows recovery if they don't provide the recovery disc.

As soon as you turn on the computer keep pressing f8 until you see the menu. Then i guess you should see a repair option click it and follow the instructions from there

No No NO i have a Sony Vaio lab top and as soon as you buy it, its says click here to make recovery disc. its to late now, when you got the labtop you should have made the disc they dont want you to buy it why would they supply a disc when you can make it yourself?

    Good luck.
press the Assist button by the power button it will put the computer in safe mode and you can work from there or go to a computer repair shop. much easier.
