FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th, 2012!

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March of 2012. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th of next year, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts. That gives users (and Facebook addicts) a year to adjust to life without Facebook.

“After March 15th, 2012 the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back after Facebook goes out of business.”

Zuckerberg said the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

somehow I knew this day was coming one day. Computer wangsters muss be stressing up a storm hahaha...

damn i didnt see the Cnn report lol.

" There's a silly rumor exploding on the Internet this weekend, alleging that Facebook is shutting down on March 15 because CEO Mark Zuckerberg "wants his old life back," and desires to "put an end to all the madness." We have official confirmation from Facebook Director of Corporate Communications Larry Yu that the rumor is false.
We asked him via e-mail if Facebook was shutting down on March 15, to which he responded, "The answer is no, so please help us put an end to this silliness."
He added, "We didn't get the memo about shutting down and there's lots to do, so we'll just keep cranking away like always."

Let's think about this for a minute. Would Facebook decide to shut down the company just a few days after announcing a round of funding, consisting of $450 million from Goldman Sachs and $50 million from Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies, on a valuation of $50 billion?
The spurious report was started by a site to which we refuse to link, known for its reports of impending attacks of alien spaceships and false reports of a Michelle Obama pregnancy.
The fact that this absurd hoax spread so efficiently makes us wonder: Will people believe anything?"

I think the major medical causes of majority of Americans is caused by "Facebook." Literally the site influences basic laziness, unless of course your using it to advertise. I used to be like that, I used to spend unnecessary amounts of time reading posts after posts, just because I was bored. The medical inflictions impended upon a mass bundle of people, primarily the US, is based of overaggressive use on the computer due to Facebook. With the same amount of time users spend on Facebook daily they could have done become well read, and learned in many areas of their lives.
Thats why I was so fast to believe it. I mean their are people who, like some of my cousins, who go on facebook like every once a month. They are not the problem, the problem is people who go on it day after day, minute after minute trying to find some new change in information, or status of the account. Many more other issues arise with facebook mentally, and physically. This is an opinion from the way I see it through personal experience. This is exactly why I was happy facebook was going to be down.

this has no chance of being true, or even having valid points and stats. this report alone is filled with nothing but broad statements. i would be in shock if an actual news reporter actually wrote that. this just goes to show that you cannot give in to anything and everything you hear. the little things that seem odd sometimes are enough to prove an irrational story...

The way I see the world today, anythings possible. From hearing about kids getting literally stuffed in the oven by their parents to news reporters planning to put their child in a hot air balloon for a publicity stunt. Do you guys still remember that couple that just walked into the white house, had dinner with the president even though their security was so called "top of the line"...
Pardon me for falling for it lol

    - Facebook's revenue is $4.27 Billion
    - Mark Zuckerberg's personal wealth is estimated to be $17.5 billion
    - Facebook has 800 million users (active in September 2011)

Why would he end this on March 15? lol
