My suggestion is to compare an iPhone to a really good Android phone such as the Droid Razr Max and the Galaxy S II. See what you're more comfortable with, especially the UI design since you gonna have to maneuver around alot in the home screen and stuff. After that, you should have your decision on what to get. If you want very long battery life, go with the Droid Razr Max. If you want more apps and multi-tasking stuff, go with the iPhone.

If you want to watch all types of videos n ting without having to pay like 3$, get Android.
See the co-owner of apple, Steve something, has a thing against the owner of Flash(Flash Player, Adobe, etc) so he made apple products not to carry any form of flash unless you buy the app. Andriod for more functionability, on top of that your going to pay an extra 100$ just for the apple name.
Android will support more things than apple, and is usually cheaper.

Iphone are pretty good "toys", which you pretty much has the same features as Ipod Touch, if you want features Android is the new King. I've started with the Original Droid by Verizon, on my Galaxy Nexus now. I like having the ability to customize everything on my phone. Have widget for different apps on my homescreen.

You can download Divx videos, and add directly to SD card of Android without converting video, and you can watch on the go. Simple Drag and Drop.

Google Music, Upload up to 20,000 of your music and able to listen anywhere you have Internet or Wifi Access.

Iphone users can't even say they have more apps now, because Google have over 250k.
