First things first - respect to everyone who submitted a mix, and good luck to you all. Now, here's my honest opinions on the mixes, based on whatever musical knowledge I have!

    DJ Navin: 5.5/10
    - sound quality of your mix fell at 1:40 - what was up with that? low quality beat?
    - a very west indian style mix
    - i appreciate the inclusion of Mavado at the start and Jay Sean halfway through. Would be nice if you could continue with a variety of genres in the next round.
    - kinda got bored of Laga Prem Rog
    - overall a good start. standard "summer anthem" transitions - I'd like to see you experiment with them in future rounds.

    DJ Shotty: 5/10
    - sounds like your mix needed a little more highs
    - not sure I liked the One More Time / Kuduro mashup at the start – it sounded a bit too messy. Potentially too much going on and/or vocal volumes need fixing
    - i liked the song selection for the old Indian session. Tassa on Chora Kaisa was a bit too loud for me

    DJ Ganja: 6/10
    - nice mix overall. I liked the Limb By Limb / One By One word-play
    - felt you should’ve changed beat at 0:52 though, to keep things interesting
    - didn’t like that abrupt finish

    Dozenshots: 7/10
    - first minute and a half was typical you. This is the kinda mix I’d play in my car, bopping my head and maybe shooting the occasional pedestrian. Particularly liked the “Last Night” section
    - big respect on that Rack City “custom”

    GT Vibez: 6/10
    - up til 1:50, I think you were well within your remixing comfort zone (although this session sounded a bit too cluttered), and then you went out of it, so respect for that.
    - I would’ve liked to have heard some more messing around with the Wotless instrumental, but credit for just dropping that one track on it.

    JR Prod: 4/10
    - shame there’s no “minimum” time, but either way, I don’t think you had enough time to showcase your skills. Hopefully next round, you can produce a longer mix and we can see how good you are
    - the studder session in the middle seemed pointless to me

    Mr Destructive: 7.5/10
    - nice to hear use of the “Act A Fool” instrumental, even if it was for 5 seconds!
    - liked the Replay / Big Up mix. Not sure too sure about the next track (which names escapes me right now) – it sounded too slow, especially on Trailor Load riddim
    - nice Indian session, but even better than that, was the reggae session. Loved the One Man Cant Satisfy Her mix – it really brought out a different side to the song!

    Ravindastyles: 5.5/10
    - I didn’t like the concept the first time i played this, but on the second play, it started growing on me. Although its not a “typical” summer anthem mix, this is just the qualification round and there were no rules or stipulations on how you should mix.

    Yungunz: 5/10
    - loved the vocals at the start.
    - didnt like the tassa that dropped at 0:39 though, and I think you overused the gapping technique.
    - think the mix as a whole could have benefitted from the inclusion of a high hat or two, in your beats – they sounded a little bit empty.
    - that drift at the end of Abe Jah!

this is the qualification mixes so im not expecting some big fancy perfect ass world class remxies so I shall rate them accordingly

    DJ Navin - 4
I ****in LOL'd at the beginning, that was funny. The quality of this mix isnt the best but its okay. The actual mixing is pretty good even though the one beat gets boring to listen to for that long. Your studdering wasnt the cleanest but I get what u were trying to do.

    DJ Shotty - 6
First thing I noticed immediately was the quality. What happened to your highs? Did you EQ them out? Why? Anyways the first 40 seconds of the mix sounds very cluttered. It got better after that. The indian part was good. Your studders with the indian song made me say "rass dis bai a studder up n ting" LOL. Keep it up.

    DJ Ganja - 5
That one by one song pisses me off so I think thats why I didnt like that in the beginning but other people might like it. Basic mix but nuttin much to say. Just work on your transitions and keeping all your studders aligned to the grid. Throw some sfx in there too, the mix is pretty dry.

    Dozenshots - 7
Good mix. Only thing here that you could improve on is the quality. EQ the inverted acapellas better so the vocals stand out a little more so you can turn down the volume and have the instrumental cover up the little artifacts of the beat in the invert.

    GTVibez - 5
Again, quality is a big thing here. If it was better then I'd like the mix better than do. Wtf @ 1:51. That whole part is a bunch of wtf. Maybe in the other judges books, but in mine, thats not concept. Maybe if it sounded good but it sounded like you got lazy.

    JrProd - 1
You get a point for showing up, but you lose the rest you would of gotten for effort.

    Mr Destructive - 6.5
Ok mix, Ok quality, so you get an OK score. Work on your quality and perfect your transitions

    Ravindrastyle - 6
Uhhh... lmao. sundar popo dedication mix. Well, for what you were trying to do, the mix is good. Not much else you can do considering the type of mix it is.

    YunGunz - 5
LMAO!!!!!!!!! First thing level your songs. I can tell you just put them and didnt really do anything lol. Work on your transitions please, or at least put a little effort into them. If not, just make it flow properly.

Again, I judged these mixes by what they could have been rater than what I wanted to hear in summer anthem. This is the qualifications. In the actual battle rounds your mix will be judged by what a 10/10 battle mix would be.

Dj Fyah LoLo ? I'm pretty sure that his qualification mix came from the cd Chutney Recipe By Stylistic
Track 5 - Play De Dhantal...
Unless I'm listening to something totally different... lmao

Go Fu-k yourself, it's not even clear why I was banned in the first place. Respect? Don't even get me started about respect. Anyways....

    DJ Navin 3/10
Very basic mix. You have no problem adding a beat to a song but when you started doing transitions, word play, stutters and tricks, it started getting messy. The "Laga Prem Rog" on "Saat Samundar" caught my attention a little bit. I'm pretty sure if it was rearranged differently, it would have sound cleaner and pretty smooth. Nice try on the word play! When attempting this, always remember the volumes, mess with it until you get an even volume with all the songs being used.

    DJ Shotty 3/10
"One More Time" acapella is off bar with the "Bend Over" instrumental! This is the first time I heard you mix Soca music like this. This mix caught me off guard, since I was expecting Hindi Disco from you lol. You need to organize your mixing man, everything is all over the place. Make use of the "Quick Fade" feature in AcidPro to avoid clicks/clips. Your mix is filled with them.

    DJ Ganja 4.5/10
Decent mix. I got the point you were trying to make. You had the right idea with the acapellas, this mix also has delivery but you will need to bring more than one instrumental throughout the mix if you want to stay in this competition. Like I mentioned to DJ Navin, you need to watch those volumes, especially when trying to mix with acapellas. The "One By One" was getting annoying and it threw everything off!

    Dozenshots 8/10
Great mix! The back to back mixing with Reggae and Rap for the intro was pretty dope. Just when I thought this mix would get dull, you dropped "Real Love" on "Mavado" like a G. "Let Me Clear My Throat" on "Konshens" was fu-king nuts and if you chopped up the beat like that, kudos to you! 1:34 towards the end was boss! Great flow! Nice try on the "No Gyal" wordplay at the ending, it's too bad I've heard the same concept on a Black Chiney CD already lol.

    GT Vibez SC 5.5/10
Ease up on the Tassa percussions, that style is 2005! I'm not too fond of Soca & Chutney beats on Urban music so I wasn't feeling the hardcore Tassa rolls on "Goyte - Somebody That I Used To Know". However if an acapella was used at 1:23 - 1:36 and the mix was done a lot cleaner, it would have been entertaining. Good job from 1:37 to 2:26! Pop, House, Soca, Dancehall, Chutney & Hindi music was used in this 1 minute period and I'm not even including the little Merengue at the ending! That's the potential I like to see! Very Creative. Keep working on those transitions!

    Jr. Prod 7/10
Although this is just a 46 second mix, I've heard enough of what you're capable of! Very clean pitch shift on "Lil Wayne - We Be Steady Mobbin". "A Millie" on "Take It To The Head" was dope! Clean stutters, clean mix overall. I can't wait to hear what you have up your sleeves for round one!

    Mr. Destructive 5/10
This mix was OK. Most of you guys are having trouble transitioning music together when it involves more than one genre. "K.I.L.L.I.N.G." on "Nas - Hero" was dope but the transition to "Replay" could have been cleaner! "Love Bump" on "Satisfy Her" would have been insane if the mix was cleaner and mastered properly! Nice try! You have potential my friend. Keep up the good work.

    Ravindra Style 6/10
Awwww shiiiiit, everybody run for cover... Sundar Popo in the house. Although I don't hear skills in this mix, this mix was done very clean and the volumes are perfect. I'll cut you some slack since it's just qualification round.

    YunGunz 1/10
Don't feel bad for this rating. Everybody got to start somewhere. Keep practising! Sound like you did 15 separate mixes then put them together. Did you use Atomix for this mix?

Now I apologize for my absence for the next few days while this sugarboy bans me again. Peace!
