McAfee Antivirus has always worked best for me. I think the worst ones I've ever used were Avira and Norton.

Avast hands down, I used that program twice for myself & told 2 other people to use it when their computer would be doing some weird shit, its yet to fail me & best part was I didn't even have to buy it, the free trial was effective enough

Malwares Byte. Takes up very little CPU usage and gets the job done.

Hands down a great tool for malware and other nasties. I'll use this in combination with Zone alarm.

Personally. I use several different ones. Microsoft essentials I'll use at work but not at home. There is a reason why it's free.

I stopped using Nortons and McAfee years ago. They has a large footprint in processess. Just a memory intensive program. It may have changed since the last time I've used them but there are definately better quality programs in my opinion.

AVG is more better than the rest and I can tell you from experience of installing it on my computer and other people's computers when I clear out a virus or so. McAfee, Norton, Avira, and the list can go on....they are all not that great. You guys had it for what? 2 days and think it's good? Have it for a year and let me know when a virus hits.

AVG has gotten more stars and lots of great reviews up till now. So go with AVG!

I also vote for Avast. Professional Versions are Extremely Effective.

I've been using the Pro Versions of Avast for the last 6 years.

Norton is really good, but it uses a lot of system resources.

AVG always worked great for me, but I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials right now.
