LOL, shots everything pon your mix was good, but why did u use your collab mix at the start. The way i see its like u rushed this mix. Don't get me wrong its still sick, Would of been alot better if u had put more effort into doing your mix!!!!!
Thanks bro, I appreciate it, your mix was dope styll, only thing that could of gone better was your Indian session, slow session I wasnt digging, a faster session would of gone nice, great mix overall!!!
DozenShots Vs. Shotty - I think what a lot of people are failing to realize is, although these are battles, keep in mind they aren't love stories lol. I can't lie, DozenShots IS an AMAZING remixer, but this shit right here sounds seriously rushed & I'm sure you're capable of more than that man. I think shotty is much more deserving of making it to the finals this year around. SHOTTY man, you're definitely proving yourself this year! You earned my respect for this shit right here, MAD DOPE. Although, a lot of the techniques you used need perfection such as some eq'ing and the scratching etc.. used in the beginning, but you're well on your way to doing so. The potential is most definitely there & so was the concept in this mix. Winner - Shotty. Goodluck to the Finalists!
this aint no excuse, but it sounds rushed because it is. my krk is still shot. when i finally got a pair of headphones i had about 2 hours to make a mix. so its either i got DQ'd or turn in a mix
Much appreciated bro, Everyones comments are making a big impact on me here. To be honest i'm speechless lol. But thank you everyone. Navin no one said you've made an excuse, No one has said your mix was bad. I'm pretty sure if u had the time to do your mix it would of been a lot more noticeable. Regardless what happen in this round, You will still remain one of the top remixers in my eyes. Straight up!!!!! Hate me all you want, But hey i put aside everything I've had against you, even with swizz too. I can't fight the fact that ESK is the top crew today, Straight respect goes out to you and your crew!!!! P.S i did not join this anthem to prove anything, A LOT of you already understand that I'm a remixer. I'm just having fun like everyone else is!
Shotty - BSHSZZZZZ, clipping everywhere. The reggae part was good, but those acapellas are kinda weak for that beat. The transition after vitamin s was cool. The reggaeton was okay, the chutney/indian part was good. Everything after was bleh to me, it jus sounds like you did it just to do it. I dont think I heard any soca in this, the other judges will confirm. Your mix kept me interested with your studdering and transitions even though they were very basic, they still sound good. 7/10 Dozenshots - 0:00 - 1:54, nothing special, just some generic remixed cd style remixing. 1:55 - 2:37 was different and i liked it. The mixing was very, basic, especially for summer anthem. Everything after that was bleh. I dont think I heard soca unless people consider the sundar popo and the other song soca/chutney. whatever. The mix was very, plain, compared to your other work. 6/10 Winner: Shotty.
Apologies for the late review, I've been busy working every hour of the day. Anyways, here we go! Shotty: Liked the reggae intro, especially the Vitamin S track, and the indian / chutney session was cool (especially liked "Waka Waka" and Station Pe Gadi transition). "Rhythm of the Night" is one of my favourite 90's dance tracks, so I'm glad you used that! The reggae and chutney/indian were clearly the main body of the mix though - everything else kinda seemed "thrown in" without a real place. Also, I don't recall any Soca (nor an 80's track). Dozenshots: The indian session was ordinary. I understand you had issues with your speakers, but I still expected something "special" or different on the indian tracks. Liked the "When It Reach Har" concept. Dubstep drop at the end would have been pretty cool, had it not been so short, with Eminem kinda thrown on. It almost sounded like an afterthought. I guess this is what a rushed mix sounds like. Also: where was the soca? pretty sure I didnt hear 80's or 90's either (but I guess another judge can confirm). Winner: Shotty. Dozenshots - it would have been great if you'd had your speakers working so you could have turned in a mix that showed your skills, but unfortunately it was not to be. Nonetheless, Shotty you deserved to win - your mixing throughout the competition has been impressive. Mr Destructive: Just because your opponent didn't submit a mix, shouldn't mean you don't get a review. Mix was alright up til 0.38. Then you dropped that "Walk Like Ah Champion" on "Still DRE", followed by "Limb by Limb" on that dance track: both concepts were very impressive. Limb By Limb is so overused, so I was glad you did something different to it! 1:42 - 2:02 was boring and killed the hype, and I didnt think much of the remainder of the soca session. I just typed "what the **** was that kabhi kabhie" - then deleted it when i realised it was a spoof, thank skunt. Minor point, but kinda stupid you had a "slow it down" vocal, but 20 seconds later, dropped a chutney session, that was even faster than the soca session. 90's and 80's dance was missing! Good mix overall - I've liked some of the concepts you've dropped throughout the competition.
For my mix, "only way I'm dancing and feel so free" Madonna - get into the grove For dozenshits mix Stacy Q - Two of hearts. 80's I don't think neither of us had soca in our mix lol, thanks for your comment tho, I appreciate it!!!
you all did not meet the requirements.. I am unsure on how to go about this... 1. End anthem with all of you as losers? 2. Make another round? Thinking a final 3 way battle to decide a winner. Folks, give your input.
definitely go with a final 3 way battle to decide a winner. or pick let everyone pick the two best mixes of this round!!
