so ive had a ipod for many years but ive always used a third party program to manage it, now im finally using itunes. So i just added my music folder from my external to my itunes library, and wanted to know if it was possible to have itunes update and sync that folder anytime a new file gets added or a file gets deleted so i dont have to go and manually add it to the library?

Ok so let me get this straight, ur music library is on ur external drive & every time u add music to iTunes u want it to be added on ur external only, right???

So in that case do what i told u to do in the previous response and under the same page (Advanced Tab) change ur default 'iTunes Music Folder location to the one on your external hdd'

But any adding/deleting of songs will have to be done from iTunes library, thats the only way so u cant delete anything from the folder manually.
