Anyone know any good mouj (mauj?) tracks? Got a chutney/baithak Gana + Chowtaal night coming up and I'm a bit lost as to what to sing as I usually stick to a more classical style...
I figure Ramdew Chaitoe/Dropati tracks are my best bet but there's going to be a very big older crowd who I'm sure will be singing plenty of those tracks... any suggestions are welcomed!
    Thanks in advance!

Wooo! this is MY kind of forum ahah
Have you heard Ban Jaiho Banke? It's actually a very good taan song especially if your female (in my preference it sounds better if a female sings this song). Also I guarantee no elders would be singing this song... it seems to be popular with the younger generation as I've only seen youngsters sing it.

    Here's the youtube link:

    and the original

Also, there's always Jai Jag Janani,

Thanks for the suggestions! Definitely think I'm going for the first one you posted... I also prepared a classic Chaitoe (Djagernath Puri Mein) and for kicks Kanchan's Aya Sharan Prabhu- wish me luck :)

Just an update: mouj night went well- songs were a hit- especially Aya Sharan Prabhu- I'm hoping I sang the right lyrics- the problem with these moujin tracks is finding the lyrics! My biggest fear is that someone comes back to me and tells me I cussed lol!

Good to hear it went well!! And I know! Its a pain in de ass trying to figure out lyrics especially from taan songs, don't even get me started on Ramdew Chaitoe lol. I always find singers panicking especially if they're going to sing in front of an east Indian crowd, and for the same reason you have haha I don't blame them though, I would act the same if I was in that position.
