I must say that this cd surpassed my expectations with the tracklisting, CS used some different beats this time which was nice, but there were still too many drifts in this cd. 8/10 - Tracklisting 5.5/10 - Remixing No doubt though this cd will sell in stores.
so DISAGREE WITH YOU ON THAT ONE ITS THE BEST REMIX OF IT EVER HEARD OF. SOUNDING GREAT ON MY BOSE SYSTEM RIGHT NOW
this cd look like its gunna be good cant wait to listen to it another lovers lane hype to hear this one this is some real good stuff love this cd de vybez cyah don songs are great but beats are really bad good cd i enjoy it lovee de cd bad chunnes love this cd in my car right now
you guys should leave V alone man, chap is a veteran in the business, he have done so much for the remix world. So what if they man ran out of songs, u can't blame him , he used up all the songs he knew in past cds, so cut him some slack. Don't think he not the only one who run out of chunes.. A lot of the old remixer are out. I would say only Stylistic probably got chunes left..
yea esk got chunes.. but i wouldn't consider them veterans in the game. my comments was for the older guys who been around a while..
I don't think he ran out of songs though. This CD will rock any party. It's just the way he mixed it. The mastering is off and his beat choices aren't that great. The way he mixes now compared to the way he used to mix (Caribbean Spice Vol. 1-5) is completely different. He just released two cd's in two weeks. When he made the first Caribbean Spice CD's, each one was spaced out when it came to them being released which tells you he did take a good amount of time to do each one of those CD's. After Caribbean Spice: On Fire, his mixing skills and mastering decreased drastically. I still respect DJ V because he was the one of the best remixers and also one of the most influential remixers.
maybe his mastering and mixing skills decreased drastically because someone else was mastering those cds in the past.lol but yea chunes finish . But get this straight i am not knocking V. I got mad respect for what he did for this remix business.
Me and Tariq use to sit and wait patiently for a Caribbean Spice CD just to hear the songs that would be on it so we can go on a hunt for them lol. I remember helping Tariq hunt for Meri Joban, Abe Jah, Seene Mein Dil Hai, Water Pumping & Merchant's Um Ba Yao. These songs weren't just unheard before songs that happened to be on a CD, but these songs MADE the Caribbean Spice CD's. These were signature hits at it's peak. This is why I dig the first few Caribbean Spice CD's. It always had that one or two songs that made the CD! A lot of remixers took this idea the wrong way and thought mixing a bunch of unheard Rafi hits would be a success. You got to carefully pick your song selection. Here's a list of songs I think in my opionion made these CD's... Shehar Ki Peechay - Bring De Bhariat Tumhe Apana - Irresistible Aisa Lagta Hai - Project XS Ke Ghungroo - Under De Maro O Hansini - Best Of Both Worlds Nazar Mila - Remember When... Deewani & Hai Sama Pyar Ke - My Style: Although these 2 songs are very common, My Style was the first CD I heard remixes of them on and the remix itself of these 2 songs that came along, were priceless! Tu Hai Mera Bayee - Bassic Vol 2 ... and this list can go on! Can't remember the rest off the top of my head lol. But I think I made my point.
actually i can concur ..cuz just the other day tariq said to me. i remember the day when i use to look forward to V cds but its funny how things turn round when 90percent of V cd songs are from previous STylistic cds. lol ironic
Well that's how it always is. One person sets an example and the other person takes that example and go the extra mile with it. Tariq made a wise decision by doing this. His concept is one of kind. Using Guyanese terminology as CD names and using original Hindi songs of a lot of big Chutney hits as song selection is smart and made sales like a skunt. Bhariat, Maro, Kool Runnings, Cane Cuttah, Second Sunday, Mini Bus, Madhouse and Hire Car... what's next? Dig Dutty? lol One person I am disappointed in is DJ Ryan Jhingree. He is one of the fewest dudes that I know for a very long time and hasn't done anything signified yet. The most impressive mix I've heard from him was Sanwali Salooni but then again, this song is nothing to go crazy for. His style is more laid back and relaxing but he need to do something that people would remember him for. P.S. Ryan, you said you've been waiting for me for 7 years and I'm flattered that I'm worth the wait for that long, but in a way, I'm still waiting for you too!! lol
