trust next time we do a live mix competition i'll definitely be in it. but give peeps a lil more time to get it done...not everyone aint got nuttin else fah do... ...vdj seriously counts tho? isnt it unfair since it's different what you're doing? instead of listening to the other song you're looking at the waves. instead of having to match beats u just click sync. its like having a competition between a mixer and remixer. im not hating on anyone using vdj..that's how i started..im just saying that its pretty different than using a set. requires different skills so u cant really judge people based on skill...
Please do a part 2 quick so i can show these niggas how to mix live. PLEASE. and **** yall im gonna use all the vdj sync button i want LOL
Well it depends on what criteria people are using to judge these mixes. Is it about being able to beatmatch tracks (manually) and crossfade between them? Or about the song selection? With regards to the sync button - if the technology is there to use, they why not use it? Furthermore, I don't think anyone will / can dispute that there is a skill required to beatmatch two songs without bpm-counters / sync buttons, but if someone using VDJ + Syncing can get the same crowd reaction as someone using whateverelse, then I don't think it should matter that much in the grand scheme of things. Just my thoughts.
because people go to clubs and parties to hear how well the djs can match songs up without waveforms lol a DJ PLAYS MUSIC for PEOPLE to ENJOY. its all about energy, which comes from song selection. these 3 dj's up there sound like they djn at hookah paradise. no energy in their set at all.
u have the equipment, u have the songs, its a live mix, u trying to blend ND make a remix ? bro, live mix means playing with energy finesses and hype, yall need to cool down the remixing ****ry.
You are probably either a beginner DJ or a DJ that still uses just a pair of CD players and a mixer. Ever since Serato has been on the scene for many years now, people rarely ever DJ with CD's. With Serato, you can do a lot of tricks with the use of loops and cue points. DJ's like to spice up the way they mix songs by mixing an instrumental with a song. By mixing an instrumental with a song, it's easier to blend in songs from the same riddim as that instrumental. I'm not saying that Serato is required to be a DJ and you must do live remixing. In my opinion, it gets boring to hear a DJ just mix two songs together without using any loops or cueing at another part of a song. When people didn't have Serato or Virtual DJ, of course live remixing was almost impossible but DJing and technology in general has changed a lot over the years. As for this battle, all of you did a great job. Even though I'm not really a fan on new reggae, I think I like Streetburna's mix the best. I didn't have time to do a mix and I know it would have been harder for me because I have only one webcam. I will definitely try to be in the second live mix competition.
Lol probably cuz that's all you know how to do... if you really wanna show us how to mix, do it on decks and a mixer.
please dont tell me to dj on 2 decks and a mixer, niggas used to dj with tape decks and had a better set than you. i'm not a dj, i never claimed to be a dj, and i will not try to be a dj. im just a guy that plays music. ^ i commend you for not talking shit. repped
