    Serious question here.

What are your feelings on dating someone with kids. This person can be male or female, the key component are children from a previous relationship either married or common-law.

Would you give such a relationship a pass?
Would you give it a chance?

Or are the kids a deal breaker?

My personal answer is No, because I don't want to deal with that kind of baggage and I don't like it when EXs are still in the picture.

    How about everyone else?

Single mothers are broken goods. This is why parents are overprotective because they know about these things happening.

depends on the person I guess. Yes ex's will be involved, but if your a strong person and can look past that and situations are handled, then I guess things could work. Chances are given...don't know about marriage and all that lol

I wouldnt date someone with kids. Theres a possibility that me and that person would think about getting married and Id wouldnt want the responsibility of taking care of a child who is not mine. A child never respects a step parent the same way they respected their real parent.

Everyone makes mistakes and problems are always rising you dont know why and what problems cause the split to happen i would use a clear mind when making this life changing decision i would find out what the story is before i would make the decision

It's def something that I'd have to think about from a black and white P.O.V I'd say no, but if you love the person enough you accept them for what they come with.

I know quite a few people who went through this and none lasted! FACT, THE KIDS ARE NOT YOURS!! They will listen to their parent over you any day. Even if the parents relationship didn't work out and it was a mutual understanding, there will be an extra adult to put an additional dimension of pressure on your relationship. Another thing to be wary of, caring people with children will usually try to put their differences aside for the child. If things didn't work out you can be involving yourself with a not so caring person (bear in mind, a fisherman will never say their fish is rotten). Then other problems arise if marriage comes into the picture and more kids, someone has to deal with treating own child the same as step child (as if that is possible). With all that said, if you're old, desperate, can't have children and have a high tolerance for crap from people who should not have an effect on your life... go for it!

I have been in a relationship where she had a child, it was good. But I think it was mostly cause the child was well behaved. So if there is a next time, I dont know I guess it would depend on how the kid is spoiled, behaved, etc.

I will, once that person has it together, without the baby dady drama. I can love her, but it won't be worth the headache.

i see nothing wrong with dating a single mother, i would actually view her as a stronger, independent individual...

Pretty cold if you ask me. Before you get into this kind of situation, you need to make sure where the mother stand with her baby-daddy. I wont get involved with a single mother if she is still involved with her baby daddy. Next thing you know, I'm doing her baby-daddy's dirty work! If she the type to forget him and move on with me, I have no problem taking care of the kid and treating the kid as my own.
