    Can't really compare...

What is considered old school to you anyway? As much as I love my 80's and 90's music, I have to admit that I wasn't around much when music from that time were fresh. I actually grew up to a lot of rap music from 1998 - 2002 and had sense of what an impact fresh music then felt like. Music today has impact on a crowd as much as 'old school' music has (depending on crowd).

When "Fabolous - You Be Killin' Em" came out, it was nuts in the club! When LMFAO started dropping hits, same thing! What about when We No Speak Americano, Alors On Dance & Stereo Love came out? They were nuts!

90's Reggae is priceless but I have to admit, I could probably party, drink and dance more to Dancehall from 2009 to present than 90's reggae today. It's that vibe lol. People that live through music from when they were released see more of a transformation of the Genre than what people that are 20 years late listening to the same music, comparing it to music today is what I'm trying to say lol

Michael Jackson's Thriller is the highest selling record in the world with 29 Million copies, none of those 29 Million copies were shipped to us lol. You think YOU enjoy a Michael Jackson track? You try talking to someone who were in their 20's in 1984 that most likely lined up at a record store trying to buy that sh-t on vinyl and tell them your interest in Michael Jackson lol, they'll laugh at you.

Old is gold lol, nowadays music has a lot of sex in their lyrics, I think old Skool reggae, soca and Indian were the best in the 90s. Now it's just not even worth your time

I prefer the new music because it's higher quality and better technology allows producers to create different sounds and fusions of genres. Lyrically I feel hip-hop has declined quite a bit as most of the rappers are talking about guns, violence, drugs, wealth, luxury... It's like once they make it through the come up their lyrics go down the drain (could partially be the fault of the major record labels). I am however, seeing influences of old school hip-hop coming back through artists such as kendrick, joey bada$$, schoolboyQ, j.cole, and a few others. Anyways back to the main topic I prefer the newer stuff because I feel like I can connect with it more and I also enjoy the beats more.

I honestly love oldschool music more. nowadays music is full of vulgarity like the other djs are saying nothing can be compare to those days when i was a young boy growing up in guyana listening to some great riddim playing on a sound system, and especially going to a wedding house and hearing those chutney and indian songs that made sense and had great beat, ooohh how i wish those days can come again
