    Microsoft security essentials by far the best

    bitdefender, norton, and kaspersky are constantly rated in the top three. for the past like 3 years

    Nod32 is very good but the software is too heavy on resources. Just run Avast free with malwarebytes and you pc will be your fortress.

    its Kaspersky with very quick antivirus updates, using it from past 4 years.

    Security Essentials from Microsoft is free and works well. Had several instances where is found potential virus and Mcafee did not.

    Honestly, Norton AntiVirus works the best and I haven't stumbled across any problems in any of the eight years I've been using it.I never had a virus, period. What more can you ask for?

    I think the best thing out there is Microsoft security essentials. It's free and it comes with the OS and it works great. You just have to remember to maintain it and do the updates once in a while.

    Yah I have to agree with you guys, Microsoft SE has come along way and it doesn't use much resources on your computer which makes it running in the background not noticeable. I stayed away from others, due to the boot up time.
