Dholak Players - Favorite Playing Style?

After learning some members here play dholak , I'm curious to know what kind of playing style you guys normally have when playing for temple/jhandi/wedding. For example, I know some dholak players have more of an east Indian kirtan style. For me, my style is more of a west indian/taan style when it comes to playing for bhajans/kirtans.

 

So I grew up learning classical tabla, but started playing in mandir shadowing an older guy on dholak. My style of drumming is based off dholak but more technical since I have the classical background
