Looking for a new laptop, and I saw some really good deals on HP, but they're AMD processors. I know intel is suppose to be better, but whats the difference? Are there any dj's on here that use laptops with AMD processors???

Negative, Intel is by far the best why you think it cost so much more?

Let me tell you a little history about AMD.

After Intel started and they manufactured their first family of processors, someone took an Intel processor re-engineered it and called it AMD and that's how AMD was started.

If you look at the date the companies got started you'll see something funny about it.

    Intel: July 18, 1968

    AMD: May 1, 1969

Anyway, I've seen a lot of problems with AMD processors, one of the most notorious ones is the Phantom key problem, most times you won't even notice the phantom key problem unless you're a software developer.

Intel currently has the fastest chip on the market for consumer.

If budget isn't an issue then go for an Intel chip.

AMD is a cheaper processor and they overheat faster leading to early failure.intel are more reliable and are built sturdier.thats why they cost more and last longer.

Right now in the market, I would recommend getting an intel core i5 or i7. These processors are beasts in the game right now. With the right configuration with respect to ram and hard drive you cannot go wrong.

Stick with Intel, AMD processors have come a long way, and they are decent processors, but Intel is always reliable. It really depends on how much money you have to spend. If you can only afford the AMD, i say go for it because you're on a budget. An Intel processor is always going to be more money.
