If you mean a CD player, I'd go with a Denon DN-S3500 or a Pioneer CDJ.

Yes a cd player. The newmark ndx900 is around 220US whereas the denon dn-s3500 & pioneer are double in cost. Is this model ndx900 not a good one?

For the price of $250, it does look good and it is convenient having a cd player and MIDI controller in one. I personally wouldn't get this because the jog wheels don't look that big, and it works with the Traktor software. But it's all about how you feel with it. If you have a chance to test it out before you buy it, do that and see if you'll like it. If you get this, you will also need to buy a mixer which will run you another couple hundred bucks if you don't already. If I were you, I'd get the Numark MixDeck. Express. It's an all in one with two CD players, a mixer, and it's also MIDI capable. You can use it with Virtual DJ and Serato. The jog wheels are a decent size. Check it out and let me know what you think:

I actually had the numark mixdeck in mind, but a friend told me he sold his controller because the scratch sound was terrible.I saw the the mixdeck have actual cd players which mean a better scratch sound right? do u have any personal experience with the mixdeck? I did notice that the ndx900 is built for traktor software, but i assumed serato or virtual dj would work. thanks alot for the heads up & your feedback.
i also saw the numark Mixdeck Quad4-Channel Universal DJ System. seem interesting but pricy.

The Mixdeck is really good. Ive used it once but only in MIDI mode in Serato so Im not sure how it sounds scratching off of CDs. You can probably find a video on Youtube about it. Scratching in Serato sounds better and is more responsive than Virtual DJ.

hey thanks for your input. i bought the numark mixtrack pro first, it didn't work with my sl1 box.i returned it 4 the numark ns6 but after a hour or so it started to sound distorted. so i returned that also and finally got a pair of pioneers 850. i spent alot more than expected but i'm good to go now.

The Mixtrack Pro didn't work with SL1 because Scratch Live doesn't support DJ controllers. I have the Mixtrack Pro and I use it with Serato DJ.

Pioneer cdj cd mixers are the best mixers to start with if you need to play CDs in a mixer I would definitely go with that one

If you want to scratch grab some used DN-S3500s, you might even be able to find the DN-S3700 in your price range. The CDJs are great too but maybe out of your price range unless you find some used CDJ-800s.
