how to set amplifier gains?

    does any1 know how to set gains on your car amplifier without it clipping?

    Download mp3 gain program and adjust all files on there

    I agree with socajam. You can "normalize" your tracks in a free program like Audacity. This should prevent redlining.

    what i always do is put the volume to 75 percent put on classical music keep going up till you get distortion and then back off 3/4 and always works :)

    and i say classical music because they have all the instruments so u can hear it all

    Thanks for the info...will normalizing reduce the quality of the track? And also I will try the 75% volume and see how things work out.
