I find that these controllers dont give the same sound quality as a rane mixer and a pioneer CDJ2000 nexus, what do you guys think?

I love my ddj sx, works perfectly. I think controllers are going to lead the way very soon though.

For the price of a stand alone Rane/Pioneer setup you mentioned ($4000 with one cdj and $6000 with 2), sound quality is top notch... As for a controller, you are paying a fraction of that price, you wont get that type of sound quality. DDJ sx sounds good ob large systems.

People look at controllers as toys and not professional, even thou thats where most companies make their profit on...(except for Pioneer dj)

Hook up your controller to a mixer and it will sound just as good especially Pioneer units

it is more the manufacturer than the USB controller "set up" per se. you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get good quality sound nowadays in a digital world. Pioneers are good. Naturally, if the manufacturer is "low end" then expect "low end" sound. It is the quality of the mixer you got to look at. Having expensive CDJs without a proper mixer will give crappy sound.
