I think Serato offers the best features. I've always found Traktor to be clustered and confusing.

i would say about 90% of the pro dj's i know use serato cuz its more durable..traktor and vdj both have their percs though but serato is more professional.

Based on the fact that you see it in almost any club you go Worldwide.

Serato is more popular for sure, but Traktor offers way better sound quality. I use both and i think they are both good programs but i find myself using Serato more just beacause it is so popular in the club scene, but i used Traktor at some house parties and it performed very well. I would say Traktor is good for start up djs because if offers the best sync and beat matching than any other program, but once you start using it in the club scene, you just better off bringing a serato box, but I'm sure that will change soon.

It comes down to personal preference. You could make a great mix using either one. I've used both and feel more comfortable using traktor. In the past this used to b a debate but both programs are well built now and run well.

I'm considering getting the traktor s2. just powered speakers and the konsole and a laptop. not too much equipment to carry. With seratto you would need to bring cd players

I would say to try them all. You will be able to get like a trial version or a cracked version on the web and then just mess with them and see which one works for you.

Depends on what type of DJ you wish to be, and where in the world. In North America, Serato is the standard at any club. If you're going to DJ for small house parties and never touch the clubbing scene in NA, then choose what you feel is comfortable. In Europe, the scene is a bit different and it depends on the DJ, venue, and other factors.

I would always recommend Serato with turntables, not Virtual DJ or Traktor with consoles.

I think it boils down to personal preference, Traktor does seem like a niche product. For me, I'm more of a visual person and when I compare both interfaces, I find that Traktor is just way too cluttered. I think they over compensate with features because Serato has become the universal standard. I prefer the streamlined Serato experience.
