i personally think its the selection & sound fxs, i like the kind of mixes that have short song times and a lot of mixing. Even if the mixing is just fading from one song to another.

I think it depends on the selection of music, style of (re)mixing, beats and sounds and the attitude.

its all as above also when a "DJ" DO NOT play somebody's mixtape/Cd and pretend to do work behind the mixer/controller.

Selection, timing, song durations, being able to "read" your audience (which ties into song selection), less talking, more having fun, and your own unique touch that differentiates you from others!

Someone who can actually mix on time and beat. Someone who can mix any genre of music with little practice because they understand music arrangement

Good timing, good music selection and knows how to please a crowd by keeping them surprised and jumping from start to end.

I believe that there is always one person, that will never like how you play. But the opinion of a good Dj Varies between different people. Cause I like a dj who can mix soca and Indian and calypso, but the guy next to me might think that the DJ is Garbage.

@DjSmokie...that so tru...everyone has different taste and not everyone will be pleased with the methods that a DJ might mix by or his selections..
i guess once the person who hires you is satisfied thats all that matters..
