i like both, they both have their strong points.........we will all have to go to windows 8 sooner than later anyways! might as well start now....I'm not saying dive head on in but just install it on one of your computer or VM it just to get use to it.......same thing happened when 7 came out everyone was like i still like XP better and now everyone is like 7 is great.....its always the same story different tune.

i think windows 10 over all is the best choice. but if you are talking 7 and 8, i would say 8 with the desktop mod (bypass the metro interface). It looks just like 7 with the advancements of 8.

Windows 8 because of the features, and more adaptability. Though their store doesn't carry some apps that you have to download, I would still go with windows 8.

From the opinion of an IT Professional, Windows 8 included under the hood settings and configuration needed for a cleaner and more approachable deployment. I usually disable the "metro" style interfaces and etc.

Windows 7 is still good, don't get me wrong, but eventually they will stop sales and all computers will come with windows 8. Btw, the UEFI lockdown on Windows 8 is a huge plus, no longer will you be affected by spyware that attaches itself via boot, plus it has much more features and direct loading rather than BIOS.

Windows 10 I'm still testing but it seems to be the right direction since the metro interface is more simplified down and no longer occupies full screen.
