    What is the best solid state drive out there in terms of speed?

    Best right now are the PCI based SSD's. They have an theoretical speed of 4000 MB/s (on PCI 3.0 x4). But downside, it's expensive.. if you check the SATA 6G SSD's, you be good.

    Seagate and Maxtor Red are the best 2 right now, just have to look at the specs and then compare price.
    They are about the same.

    I'd personally recommend the Samsung 850 Pro and Evo for SATA drives .... transfer rates of 540 MB/sec read and 520 MB/sec write :)

    I have a SSD in my MacBook Pro 13 inch it super fast with the solid state drive

    There are so many new drives out and the cost is about half of what it was last year

    Like Johnnie Walker said, there is ALOT of SSD drives out there. Here's a little list of what you can buy (if you can afford them)

    - Sandisk Extreme SSD (1TB) - I have this, can confirm: good SSD
    - Samsung T7
    - WD Blue 3D NAND
    - SanDisk Extreme Pro

    Hopefully this list of SSD's will help you out.
