Has anyone ever taken a long break from DJing or just ventured into another hobby/profession out of lost interest? I never thought I'd see the day I wouldn't have an invested interest in DJ'ing/Remixing anymore but as you get older, priorities and responsibilities change, and interests too to be quite honest.

But on occasion I am asked to DJ house parties or "Control the music" in some fashion.

If you've shared in a similar experience:

    Why did you stop?
    How long did you stop?
How did you feel about djing again?

Stopped because of time due to family and work
    Almost 2 years
Been into djing for over 26 years and still do it in my basement,it's in the blood.i been thinking about doing it again but by 11:00 pm I seem to fall asleep and that's not good for a dj.

I was big into dubplate cutting and voicing artists for my sound. I've stopped for quite sometime due to the way the dancehall/reggae industry shifted. It became more of a money thing with the artist rather than expressing the artful in vocal excellence. Too many $hitty dubs, artists carrying on like divas, alot of younger sounds saturating the business with foolishness, etc.

I still practice my juggling and mixing but would rarely step out my home to play.

Why did you stop? I got a new job in which travelling was a must.
How long did you stop? two years...
How did you feel about djing again? i only do smaller gigs now - and it has it charm but a lot has changed in a two year absence

I got married and started a family. Now I'm slowly picking it up again.
And I must say, it feels great.
