No. Just no. Car audio and pro audio are 2 completely different types of speakers engineered with completely different parameters. Using a car audio subwoofer for DJ use is the easiest way to blow it.

I have to admit I was asked to play a party once and was told they had a system to use got to find their kids car sub box like pyramid cheapos connected up to a cheap home system to match lol. Make due with what you have I guess. I recently heard a demo of the cerwin vega AB-36C... wow :) I fell in love with them but crazy price for a pair of them.

it's has been done. My buddy and i started out using an old set of house speaker boxes and loaded them with 2 12" woofers. We did a few gigs and then someone offered to buy them from us. You have to understand the way they need to wired and how much load they can take, but on a budget you can make it work. But i would only recommend this as as a way to start, if your doing special occasions and are trying to build your rep as a "Professional" rent pro speakers.

It is possible! I remember when I had a pyramid sub in the whip...@ Rudeboy lol But when I started DJing I hooked it up to my set and it sounded decent! The only thing that helped a lot was the EQ/crossover to get it on the right frequency. I also kept it in the hatch sealed enclosure which kept it from blowing or sounding bad. But it is strictly considered experimental/freebies. Do not charge to play a gig with that stuff.
