I agree with above whats your specs/model also try to look for a realtek driver for audio but post your computer/model and original OS whether it was upgraded or not for software

I agree with what the other guys are saying. Usually a new driver or a driver will fix it.

For me, I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. After the upgrade, I had no sound!

I fixed it by doing the following:

Type "Sound" in the search bar (lower left)

    Select, "Change Sound Card Settings"

Dialogue box appears titled, "Audio Enhancements Problem"

Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems:

SPDIF interface (Conexant High Definition Audio)

Would you like to disable Driver Enhancements for this device?

    Click Yes

I don't know what "Enhancements" that I am losing, but it sounds fine to me!

open Sound from Control Panel and make sure your sound card is showing up
open Device Manager and check driver and update if needed

Open control panel and go to device manager, scroll down to sound card and devices, uninstall all soundcards and select remove drivers. Once finished, right click within device manager and select scan for new hardware, it will find the sound card again and ask to install. Select to let windows find the driver automatically and its should download and reinstall. Confirm if it works once complete.

Connect external speakers and test to see if you get sound if not may be an issue with the sound card
