Brian Lara/ Chanderpaul, Shiv would have beaten Lara's record if Lloyd didn't drop him from the team. I also think it was insulting that they didn't have a farewell match or celebration for Shiv. And the icing on the shitty cake was that when WI played Tri-series, no GT players were on the team even though it was the 50 year anniversary and they played some games at Providence. WI cricket is ****ed up but I still watch lol.

Greatest in what sense? If we're talking about greatest in batting, sure Brian Charles Lara. If we're talking greatest in every aspect of the game, Lara nor Chanderpaul comes close because Sir Garfield Sobers is above both of them.

I would say Brian Lara for his massive centuries....including the famous 501 not out in county cricket as well as the unbeatable 375 in test cricket. By the way, it was Gary Sobers record of 365 that Lara destroyed...only to imply that Sobers was also one of the greatest west indian cricketers of all time. Haynes and Richards are also on the list of greats too...but overall i would say Sir Brian Charles Lara...lol

I think its Brian Lara by far. If he didnt have to take a long break due to hepatitis, imagine how much more records he would have.

I like Shiv and all, but he generally batted with the tail enders.

Bowling wise, Ambrose gets it for me.

Brian Lara, he's the only batsman to have ever score a century, a double century, a triple century, a quadruple century and a quintuple century in first class games over the course of a senior career.
Sachin Tendulkar also said that he's "One of the best batsmen of my generation, if not the best ever."

The past I'd give it to Shiv Chanderpaul, the future belongs to Hetymer
