What is the best antivirus software

All of a sudden my computer is slow I only have music, picture and microsoft word documents

 

If your running Windows 10, it could be that it is trying to update itself in the background. That will slow down everything. Just leave your computer on and let it do it's thing.

If it isn't, I would recommend running the following free tools

Junkware removal tool (JRT)

Adware cleaner (ADW)

Malware Bytes (It's free, but you have to pay for the "premium" version)

As for antivirus, I would just stick with what comes with Windows 10 which is Windows Defender. Or, if you have Windows 7, use Microsoft Security Essentials which is also free.

If you have Windows 10, there is no need for anything more than Windows Defender. Sensible browsing and knowing what you plug into your PC is even better than any antivirus.

 

ive tried many antivirus programs and i find that AVG is still pretty good also ESET but what people have said already the stock ones that windows comes with is your best bet that's my opinion.

i use it still i find it to be worth it detects alot of stuff

AVG works best for me.

 

symantec antivirus is far better than all antiviruses........

 

A quick google search reveals that AVAST Antivirus is the best antivirus program period, I have personally been a user a AVAST for years now and I would most definetly recommend using it yourself!

Kaspersky. Never had any issues. Then again I've got a pretty beefy system

 

I use Avast Internet Security, i think it's pretty good and the same makers of AVG owns both now

 

AM Using Bitdefender Total Security with the 5 License.
It works pretty well.
Avast too for a Free Product. however Reason why i go back to Bitdefender cause i got it on 50% Discount and they seem to have improve on Online Shield.

I just don;t like AVG cause it slows pc down after a week (At least for me lol)

I have been using McAfee Antivirus for years without any issues.

In my opinion norton is the best antivirus soft that I've used. The latest version doesn't slow your pc down like other antivirus software. It's new updates keeps everything running smoothly.
