I have the Blackberry desktop software on my desktop and I connected my phone to the computer, and when I try to load applications into the phone it keeps saying that the software is running a dial up connection. I don't know why it's on that and don't know how to take it off of "Dial up". Please someone help me!!
it sounds like your blackberry is tethered to your computer. check to see if there is an option to turn off the modem feature on your blackberry. what i mean by tethered is, with some blackberrys you can use the phone to provide internet access via the phones 3g or edge connection. all you usually have to do is plug the phone in via a usb cable.
you should just call rim or your cellphone provider. tethered is when you use your phone's internet service such as 3G OR edge as your laptops internet connection. for example since you can browse websites via your blackberry you can connect it up to your laptop so it can use the wireless internet connection from the phone, it basically becomes a modem.
Alright Thanks Jones. Anyway I just went my other computer and updated it from there and worked. Thanks though
