    Hello MP Family,

Lately i've been receiving inquiries from a few Dj's to rent out my equipment for the night. While i have some expensive gear i wanted to know how some of you go about renting gear to people and if you attend these gigs to make sure your products aren't abused.

    I have two JBL SRX815P

    https://jblpro.com/products/srx815p

    and an EV ETX-18SP

    https://www.guitarcenter.com/Electro-Voice/ETX-18SP-18-Powered-Subwoofer.gc

How would you go about renting these given the cost? What would be a reasonable security deposit and how much would you charge per night or hour.

    Thanks.

I would suggest that you compare prices to places that rent out the same equipment like Long and McQuade. Then adjust your prices accordingly according to distance/time/duration. You can draw up a contract stating that they are liable, you would then have to go through litigation if it goes south. Rental places charge by weekend/day. You could do exceptions to charging by the hour, hope this gave some insight on how to handle rentals.
