    Resident Evil: EXTINCTION

    Release: September 21, 2007

    Synopsis:
Director Russell Mulcahy takes over for the third and final chapter in the Resident Evil film trilogy that finds genetically altered Alice (Milla Jovovich) joining forces with Carlos (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps) to take down the Umbrella Corporation once and for all. Upon emerging from her hideout in the Nevada desert, Alice is quickly joined by old friends Carlos and L.J., as well as survivors Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke), and Nurse Betty (Ashanti). Now instilled with super-human strength, senses, and dexterity as a result of the biogenetic experimentation conducted on her by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice and the rest of the survivors set out to eliminate a virus that threatens to turn every living human undead, and ensure that the mysterious organization pays the price for their horrific crimes against humanity.

I remember playing resident evil 1 back when it first came out on my computer ... freaky shit, zombies biting the shit out of you. Then I played the other games too, like RE3: Nemesis. I think this movie is going to be more like that. Zombies everywhere, lots of action. It looks good, sounds good, I hope its better than the first two movies... what you think?

LOS ANGELES - The undead of “Resident Evil” still have plenty of life in them.

“Resident Evil: Extinction,” with Milla Jovovich again fighting flesh-hungry zombies in the third installment based on the video game, opened as the No. 1 weekend flick with $24 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.

It was the best debut for the franchise, topping the $23 million debut of part two, 2004’s “Resident Evil: Apocalypse.”

Sony Screen Gems hinted there could be more “Resident Evil” movies, though the latest had been billed as the final one.

“Until the next,” joked Rory Bruer, Sony’s head of distribution. “It absolutely would not surprise me considering the success of the franchise that they find a way to come up with another. It’s a real possibility.”

Damn, hope they continue the series ...
