it could be what trigga stated or could also be bad grounding with the power supply of your laptop.

are you sure its static or is it hiss?

trigga you know a monster cable is nothing really better then any other cheap cable from radio shack.
only thing better is the actual connector tips and the shielding.

if you buy wires from pro co or even general pro audio cables beside monster garbage youll get the same result for just as cheap, but hey if u got a good deal on them your good to go.

    yes that;s was he has.

its a mini plug to rca stereo.

how much did that cost you?
and wait no da static is there, just not as loud.
so i guess ill try better wires first,
    then if that doesnt work,
    a new charger,
I AM NOT SHIPPING MY LAPTOP OUT i need this thing
if all that doesnt work, imma just buy a 12 cell battery

but i have a feeling its just the wires as trigga said
changing the wire did lower the static a bit. its not exactly static i would say more like a hiss

so the static is coming out of the system when connected to the card with the charger plugged in or out?

    everything else is fine right?

you sure its not hissing or is it static?

if its hiss, your probably getting that because you got the computer volume too low and the amp level high.
since its all analog connects its gonna hiss no matter what, every piece of analog amps mixers anything all have noise to floor ratio's google that if youd like.

trevor what about that other problem you have when u have your volume up on your laptop how it sounds shitty as hell.... when my laptop is connected to my system i turn it all deh way up on my laptop.. and then make it louder by raising the volume up from my system it self..

    thats not a major issue
i keep da volume low on my laptop and control it with my mixer
    its fine like that
and its only wen i connect 2 my mixer, does the increased volume on my laptop cause bad quality sound, if i were 2 plug directly into my amp, its perfectly fine
so its not my laptop and so, the prob im having is the static
