what kind of compatibility issues, you wont be running anything from mac to pc, right?

if your going to dj with this book, run serato on it and you should be fine. you wont need to look back after that.

a mac and serato is like a rapper with a mic, works hand in ****ing hand lol.

mac is like really really secure if im correct and doesnt have the same shit as xp or vista so some programs that run on vista wont run on mac because it aint compatible..

well mostly software issues... and if u need to transfer files n ting to go protable wit... alotta frenz say they got issues transfering stuff they got on they flash drives too... but the program ting is a big issue... i wanna be able to use all the software i need from pc's.. theres jus alot more flexibility wit pc's

traktor is ight... but i think i wanna onto sumthin' a lil more advanced... i lyek teh idea of using serato live with vinyl scracthin'... i think thats the future of djing... and im gonna start working towards gettin a good setup to do that

naaa i dont plan on remixin with the book... just for live mixing... if i get a book dat is..

yeaaa thats also a good thing about mac... sorta lyke linux as far as security goes.. the compatibility issue cud turn out to be a reallll headache... u gotta google tings all the time to find a way to get shyt to work sometimes.. mad headache

alright its time i hit up this thread..

if your worried about compatibility issues then just dual boot on your mac. in the mac there is a built in software called bootcamp which lets you install xp/vista/7 whichever one you like. bootcamp can also partition the drive.. say if you want half for windows and half for mac.. and also copying between partitions is easy and simple as dragging the file. so for example when your purely mixing you can start up vdj and mix and read all your music files you saved in the xp partition. you said you wanted to use vdj.. there is vdj 5.3 available for mac.. i posted up here somewhere. also there is even software that lets you run windows AND mac at the same time. for example, you boot up in mac. you open the program, and bam; in that program you are using xp. its also posted here by dave i think. macs are really reliable except the only problems i have ever had was my power cable sparked and melted on those white macbooks and i had to replace the battery on a powerbook. i would recommend getting the aluminum MacBook (not the pro). it seems to have all the specs you want and its pretty small and thin. you wouldnt need a big ass macbook pro just to dj unless your really pushing that processor. seems im late on this thread so if you already got your laptop then good luck to you.. and also.. most programs available for xp are also on a mac, just google && they tend to run 10 times better

welcome man anytime.. @@ the linksys problem; if its one of those blue routers, just press and hold the orange button until it starts blinking a blue light really fast. it should blink for like 2 mins, and at this time you gotta connect your computer to the router wirelessly and no key will be needed. its some kinda safety feature. but hey thats only if ur using the blue linksys router. jus tryin to help. nice ass laptop by the way. and mac is really easy to use, you get the hang of it in a day or three and its much easier than windows
