  2. Those are old games try and run GTA IV on your computer and tell us if it runs smoothly
    I have:
    Windows Vista 64-bit
    AMD Phenom 9500 2.2GHZ
    Corsair 4GB PC6400 RAM

All games run on highest settings for me except GTA IV and Chronicles of Riddick. I'll show a picture later of my computer

nice build, however with that budget you could do wayyy better.
i just got an 8 core mac pro yesterday... who wants to see?
about to install windows 7 on it later.

    not to knock you but
    8 core mac is awesome

but if its not the new nehalem models
a simple core i7 is clocking those out for about 1k less in price.

id spend the 1k extra on blow and whores :pirate_arghh:

i was considering a macpro myself but the issue become, paying 1-2k premium for a computer that is very fast no doubt but in terms of parts, isnt superior to what you COULD get in a custom built pc machine.
they still use underpowered power supplies, memory isnt that of glitz

    great computer though

    thats where the loot went,

i tend to disagree about the whole faster clock speed thing,
programs are going multiple cores now, so honestly dual cores are old tech by far.

even @ 3ghz a quad core still can rip a asshole in a dual because its double the processor.

benchmarks dont always prove how the computer may run, its real time usage that proves its power.

if you look at the core i7, it uses triple band memory compared to the old dual cores and older quad cores.
it makes use of all 3gb of ram , or the triple channel config SIMULTANEOUSLY.
compared to the dual channel style on older processors.

intel isnt going over 4ghz standard clocking on chip right now because of heat issues, so what they are doing is releasing more EFFICIENT CHIPS that are producing better speed even at there rated clock.

sadly the nehalem models weren't in stock at the time i was buying.. so i bought the 2008 model and i plan to upgrade it myself.

    the current specs are:

Two 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon CPU's
2 Gigs of memory (gonna install 4 more gigs more in a minute)
256 MB ATi HD 2600 Graphics Card (went low end because im gonna upgrade it anyway) probably to a 1 gig SLi

your probably gonna go on about your i7's but i'll tell you straight up, i just bought this computer because i had the cash laying around. i like apple. i saw the price. and i copped it. indeed if i could build a better computer. but what about the software? MacOSX. its possible to install it on a regular pc but you will have trouble and shit. i just like Mac's. the most i ever do on my computer is mix, play with acid pro, photos, music, and a little video editing. i have a new pc now i might as well start gaming too. they're strong computers and i dont upgrade my shit until like 4-5 years after i buy it. i was previously running a PowerMac G5 1.8 GHz.. those was the days lol. conclusion i dont need ya i7s !

yeah i agree with this chap he seems to know his processors quite well
just like those new mac pro's. the clock is slower but that shit still kicks mine.

    Weak core 2 duo.........

Then again even mine isnt that strong the Core 2 Quad q6600.

The c2q's aren't really quad its just 4 cores, 2 dual cores, the new i7's are literally 4 cores though......

    even so a c2q @ 2.4-2.8 is much better than a c2d at 3.3whatever you have

literally?? so what are they, virtual? what they call it quad for? it has 4 cores on one chip. i7s just use different technologies blah blah to make it faster.
